That is nice. I like it.

About the Dutch Army from 1989.

From begin 90ties they received new small arms. Namely: SAW Minimi, C8 & C8A1 Carabines, C7 & C7A1 Rifles, H&K AC-G 40mm GL, Glock17 Pistol, AT-4, Barret M82A1 Sniper Rifle, Accurary International Sniper Rifle.

For weapons and equipment now in the dutch army here is a link

And Dutch airforce

Since i'm already working on the danish atm, it will be pretty easy to implement the Minimi, Diemacos (C7s and C8s) and AT-4.
I'm also trying to rename every unit, weapon and formation to fit their native naming conventions (within reason of course)
It worked well for the polish and dutch so there are Verkenning Groeps and Zwiadowcy instead of Scouts.

Hi Mustelidae
I've got Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, France, Canada, USMC, all more or less done, with a cold-war / 1989 orbat. Some I've uploaded here and some I haven't. I would be happy to share them here if you want.
Cheers.

If any of you are interested in developing new content (DLCs) for the new Cold War game engine after the release of Southern Storm, please let me know via PM. We will be looking for a few good dedicated contributors to help the team with future expansions to the Cold War game series.

Hi everyone, tommorow im going to update you on the first reworked nation and the current state.

Hi maple61:

I already did the dutch and im very far with the danish, but im pretty sure every bit helps.
If you could upload your stuff i could double check my oobs and rework them accordingly.

CapnDarwin:

When i did my first two oobs (netherlands and poland) i did them for personal use and for my friends, but if a bit of my stuff is helping in any way i would feel honored. All of my future uploads are free to use, change and incorporate in other work. But since my work so far isnt always going as fast as i want i could need some time to finish my first group of oobs.

Sorry for the delay of my Update, but here it is:

The Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany

Since this is a pretty large update i will present this in pieces starting with the Infantry and their APCs/IFVs.

The CWE-2020 Infantry is splitted in four main groups: Fallschirmjäger, Panzergrenadiere, Jäger and Gebirgsjäger, all
of them eventually getting their appropriate Formations.
The Infantry units and their Support Groups are splitted up into '75, '85, '92 and '01/09 versions, all of them getting
new equipment, like:
G-11 Caseless Assault Rifles
LMG-11 Caseless LMGs
Panzerfaust 3 AT-Weapons
GraMaWa AGLs
TRIGAN and PARS-3 AT Missiles
The FGM-148 Javelin
The Handflammpatrone DM34

The new flavour of infantry also comes in new vehicles which include:
The Marder 2 AFV (With 35mm and 50mm guns + PARS-3)
The Gefechtspanzer PUMA (Not that one) in many versions as a M113 successor
The Boxer
The Marder M12 upgrade (KUKA Turret and new Gun)
and the NGP/Igel/Puma inspired Wisent (A ficitional name based on a real vehicle)

The Fallschirmjäger will also receive the whole Wiesel-1 and 2 Palette to reinforce their Firepower.

All of that stuff is already made and ingame, just needs to be fine-tuned and the Formations need to be reworked.

The next Preview will show you the new West German Armored Reconnaissance and Tank Forces.

Time for the next update on my Mod

-Worked on the Danish OOB
-Units Nearly done
-Formations still need to be done, but should be pretty easy
-Danish Air Weapons still need to be reworked
-Still have to make a few choices for post 90's Units

-Reworked parts of the West German OOB
-Now includes the MG-11 caseless LMG, the MG4 and MG5 as LMGs, MMGs, AAMGs and Vehicles MGs
-Reworked the Distribution of Grenade Launchers like the HK69 and 79
-Sorted the whole Weapons so that they are numerically categorised in the data file
-Will probably include the "IGEL"/"NSPZ" family as half fictional vehicles, atm there is only the IFV
-Replaced some unit pictures with better ones
-Included the EC145 as the PAH-3 Schwalbe with PARS-3LR Missiles and as VBH Recon Helicopter

In i few hours i will continue the preview on the West German Bundeswehr

I already know that mod, played it when it came out.
It was actually my first venture into the realm of cold war prototypes and stuff that never went into action.

This is my first Upload of the Danish Armed Forces, bear in mind that it is not completely finished.
Also the planes still need their armament, but i will fix that soon.
Next in Line are the West Germans, who need a rework and new Formations and the Dutch who need to be brought up to my new 2020 standard.

My first expression is WOW.

I am not very familiar with the danish terminology, names and etc. And I think this is for more people. Because of this I have the following suggestion.

Mayby to add a tab with columns for abbreviation, full name, translation and original. And this also for the other countries.

Examples:
Formation: - <=> Infanteribataljon <=> infantry battalion <=> -
Unit: - <=> Antiluftskytskanon Skyshield <=> antiaircraft gun skyshield <=> -
Weapon: Gv M/95 <=> Gevær M/95 <=> M/95 Rifle <=> C7 Rifle

Mustelidae,

Very nice work. I might make a suggestion for some of the art to better fit Red Storm and then be Southern Storm ready.

The sil art for Southern storm is going to be 256 x 128, greyscale, 300dpi, and PNG format to better support transparency. You may wish to baseline your unit sils that way and then resize them down to Red Storms 128x65 pixel BMP format. A bit of extra work now, but a time saver in the near future. When I work the sils for Southern Storm I resize the final sil image to fit the maximum of 236 wide or 100 high. Then I use a canvas tool to position the sil in a 256x 128 frame. For helo and aircraft, I keep the sil centered. For ground platforms, I set them to the bottom of the canvas and then move them up 4 pixels. That will make sure the sils fit nicely on the counter.

Counter backgrounds are 64x64 (Same for RS and SS) and we are moving from BMP to PNG for these in Southern Storm. We add the 3d effect to these objects using our paint program.

Flags and Unit badges are 100x100 and PNG format. They may work larger, but they need to be square.

I hope that helps you out.

Hello everyone,

Here is a small update for the Danish Armed Forces, which should fix a few crashes and now has airplanes and their ordnance.

I also try to update those unit sils to a higher standard, but since i'm pretty amateurish with using paint programs thats not my high priority and will be done incremental.

And this is a first preview of my Dutch Armed Forces.

I still need to root out crashes and work on the formations and air ordnance, but they should be completely playable soon.
If someone finds any game-crashing mistakes, feel free to post.
I'm also open to suggestions for new units and formations.
Since this is an alternate history mod, there are lots of divergences and lots of weapon systems that were cancelled or not put into production in reality.

I Also started to make a Table with weapon translations, which will soon include unit names.

First impression is Nice. But on first sight i have the following comments about the Dutch Forces.

The Dutch Army had not in the past
FN FAL Para
HOT ATGM (all versions)
RH 202 20mm AA
BO-15 AT heli
AMX13/90

The Dutch army had in the past.
STEN SMG
M1 Carabine
M55 .50 Quad

The succesor of the YPR family is the swedish CV90

The Side Arms are FN HP and Glock17

From the 90ties with the C7 and c8 came also a H&K underbarrel GL

I do miss by the units Commandotroepen

NATRES are home guard troops for guarding bridges an important objects

Thanks for the Feedback,
as for the equipment,
For the FN FAL Para i have an old book that stated that the KMT uses the FAL PARA but i found nothing else after looking again and will change that accordingly

HOT ATGM and BO-105 are a an ahistorical solution that will be changed, i will change the formations accordingly

AMX13/90 and RH 202 20mm AA are mistakes on my part, due to bad recherche

The quad is already implemented in my newest version, because im still working on the Territorial army
I also chose the Marder 2 as the YPR-765 replacement since the Marder 2 was going to be the next IFV of the West German Army, only the Fall of the Wall changed that.
Since there was a very close Cooperation between the Dutch and German Army (Fennek, Leopard 1/2, Boxer, Fuchs, Gepard/Cheetah, Bo-105 ) and their was interest in the Marder 2 by the dutch armed forces in the late 80s/early 90s according to two Rheinmetall/KMW sources, i thought it would be a more logical choice than the CV-90 in a scenarion where the soviet union still exists.
Also the Marder 2 was coming with the Rheinmetall 35/50mm RH503 Cannon, which was going to be one of the contenders of a new NATO Standard for autocannons. The CV-90 had no such integration in the 90s. The Marder 2 was also designed to work with the Leopard 1 and 2 which would be a Plus for the Landmacht.

The Commandotroepenbataljon is representing the 305 Commandotroepenbataljon which was part of the Territorial Forces until the 90s.
The 305 Bataljon was equipped with Old equipment and thats the reason why i chose NATRES to represent these. My source here was orbat85.nl

According to what ive read the modern KCT was born from the 104 Waarnemings- en verkenningscompagnie.
I will improve the Commandotroepenbataljon and its units and i will include the KCT soon but for now this is a workaround.

The UGL will be also included soon

OK. Mayby add the CV-90 series as a alternative choice.

The 305 Cdobat is begin eighties reëquipped with UZI, FAL etc.

The Territorial Forces and NATRES was for a part from end seventies reëquipped with UZI, FAL etc. This depend on location.

I found this on the web.

Netherlands

ZSU-23-4 upgrade (1998): As a private venture, Hollandse Signaalapparaten company (now Thales Nederland) of the Netherlands, obtained a number of ex-East German Army ZSU-23-4V1s and developed an upgrade package. The main part of this upgrade is the modernisation of the radar and fire-control system. The first prototype was completed in mid-1998. The upgraded vehicle is equipped with the ASADS Ka-band target tracking radar and the PAGE I-band surveillance radar.[27]
