Launched, but has not yet played in your script, PD-50? or there was talk of taking two floating dry docks and merging them? EDIT: Oh, you launched the scenario! With this COVID, I'm a bit fuzzy ! I thought you meant something had launched out of the dry dock in the image! quote:
there are several wishes on the Russian side. Not only Su-27Sm but also Su-35 are based in Besovets, there are about 22 of them and about 20 Su-27. Good stuff, have a call sign/squadron on the SU-35? quote:
In Monchegorsk, besides the Mig-31, there are also Su-24m / mr (they could have been added for reconnaissance). You know I knew that, and actually thought about them and then didn't include them. As I reacall not a lot, like 5 or 8? quote:
Kuznetsov could have been included, but in some subsequent scenario, in the spirit of a "decisive battle", So actually, she and Admiral Nakhimov both appeared in the old Command Air and Naval Operations Arctic Tsunami, 2019 scenario, which was the predecessor to this. Unfortunately there is something about that scenario which is incompatible with CMO, but if you have the old game can send you the zip file. The reason Admiral Nakhimov appears, is I assumed she would have completed refit just as the war broke our andwas used by Northern Fleet (because she was ready and couldn't get to Pacific fleet). quote:
Kuznetsov was urgently commissioned . To repair it, the shipyard is being reconstructed at the 35 shipyard. There is a possibility that by the age of 22 it can be repaired. Possible but given that Admiral Nakhimov was supposed to be refitted by 2018-19 and that has slipped to 2020 and Pyotr Velikiy is in need of refit. I just don't believe she's ever going to sea again, or if she does (for show) I doubt she flys jets. Yeah, navy's sometimes repair vessels just so someone can't claim a Mission Kill, USN with the USS Ben Franklin for example, but since this appears self inflicted, I think she won't be seen to be worth the effort. IMHO, the Russian fleet has likely seen their last carrier, in favor of more submarines and Admiral Gorshkov-class like frigates. Honestly, if she wasn't a relic of the old Soviet Red Banner Fleet, would Russia really build her today? I know there are carrier models out there but building a model and building the real thing two very separate issues. Now what might be interesting is if Russia contracted with the PRC to build one of their Type 003s! Sorry but personally I don't see the Sevmash, Shipyard 402 doing great things, because they just haven't delivered to date. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that count
