We have recruitment adds. We have a flag. What's left to get this show on the road?

I'm pretty sure the United Federation of Planets is going to sue over the appropriation of their logo. I asked their ambassador to Gorn about that and he assured me that would not stand.

Rank insignia TBC, but promotion prospects are good for the 2LTs!

Also, Admiral Kirk won't take any guff off of any general, believe me.

They really should use navy ranks just like the Mon Calamari do

I would wait for the Klingon Imperial Fleet; better esprit de corps and cooler ships and uniforms

plus I read they plan to invade the Gorns

This would be the fifth branch of the US military, if they really get going with it.

Here’s a nod to Star Trek surely
.
The first organizational change occurred on December 20, 2019, when the Fourteenth Air Force/Air Forces Strategic was redesignated as Space Operations Command (SpOC). Major General John E. Shaw, former Commander, Fourteenth Air Force, was redesignated as Commander, Space Operations Command;

MGEN Shaw became Commander SPOC.

So it actually sounds that it is just part of the US Air Farce.

I count 6: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and Space Force. Unless you fall back on the "Marines are really a branch of the Navy", which I don't think is accurate these days.

The US Marines are a branch of the US Navy, they have always historically been so. I like to remind them that they all joined the Navy to be infantrymen. They are under the Secretary of the Navy. There is no Secretary of the Marines like there is for the US Army, the US Air Force while the US Coast Guard is now under the Department of Homeland Security.

There are no US Marine medical personnel nor US Marine chaplins, those are provided by the US Navy.

TBH, I found the recruitment ads I've seen to be very cringey. It was like they were trying to evoke the old Navy recruitment ads from the early 2000s, which were OK. You know the ones - the guy with the deep voice, lots of naval aviation depicted, some subs, etc. These Space Force ones seem amateur by comparison.

Yes! The Space Force has already developed a disintegrating gun to take care of that filth!

Ha, yeah - basically like this. This is exactly how I receive the Space Force recruitment ads.

In times of war, the Coasties get transferred to the Department of Defense. In world War II, it was transferred to the War Department.

I like to remind the Navy types that when they get into trouble, they call the Coasties for help. When the Coasties got into trouble that they could not get out of, the US Army saved them.
