Done and done! I have ordered and downloaded Desert Fox, I already own Lost Victories, and I have Watchtower on back order from Military Hobbies (so I guess I have to let them fill it rather than order direct). The process was simple and quick to download it. I am allowed to burn my own backup cd?

Yes please make sure to back it up. These are also the updated Mega Campaigns so you do not need to download the patches. You also can order them with our CD on Demand for a back up if you are overseas or have a slow connection.

A lot of thanks goes to gmenfan for he was always pushing for this.

David two thumbs up for the look of the Store.

I will be dumping links to it for a while in poosts now I guess.

Observation.

Desert Fox lists 56k at 90 minutes approx.
Lost Victories 56k at 4 hours approx.
And there is no ratings for Watchtower.

Are the MC programs of that much difference in file size? I have never gone and looked at them comparitively before.

Well, the file sizes are also included in the dl details..32 megs for DF and 86M for LV..guess there are no ratings for WT as there is no download option..apparently there's still old stock left.

Looks like I'll have to get the DF...but it has to wait until the testing for the new MC is done :)

The download options are only the MegaCampaigns themselves. They don't contain the full version of SPWAW for time constraint reasons. I believe they the are original version of the Mega and the updates will still have to be downloaded from the MatrixGames site.

Hmm looks like I missed the file size data bit.

Yes appears that WT is likely still out there thus not in demand as download.

Gmen David claims in an earlier post in the thread they are the updated MC so patches are not supposed to be needed.

hello,

sorry for my silly questions, but getting a game through the internet is something new to me, so i'm green and need help

i'm sorry i'm posting it here, but i couldn't find an email address to your store...

i've read your faq but i just wanted to make sure...
could you please answer my questions, i just want to be sure before do anything and decide to order and pay.

if i understand correctly, i can get wargames from your store just by downloading them. am i right? i could also get an extra cd with the game, but i can't get the cd without downloading. is that so? is the downloading possible with every game? i noticed, e.g, 'desert fox' can be downloaded, but when i want to order 'korsun pocket' it says 'physical shipment'

i live in poland. i can't pay by card, i could only pay by cheque or registered mail. do you accept these? i think you do accept cheques, but how about the registered mail?

let's assume i wanted to buy 'desert fox' and pay by cheque. the game is 24.99 and, if i'm not mistaken, you also want a processing fee of 3 dollars. so will the total amount of money i have to send you by checque be 27.99? am i right here?

your name and address that i need to write on the cheque should be:

Digital River, Inc.
9625 W. 76th St., #150, Eden Prairie, MN 55344, Attn. Check Dept.

is that so?

ok, and once you've received my cheque, you will get in touch with me, send me some kind of password and i'll be able to simply download the game? yes?

also, i only need to fill in the payment information and order tracking information, don't i? - my email and password. i don't have to fill in the billing information, if i want to pay by cheque, do i?

I have no personal experience with the payment details, but I can help on one deatil for you dude.

Matrix Games has only veeeery recently made the downloads of the Mega Campaigns available. They were first released only as a physical item.
The downloads is a way of getting it to the guys that were slow and missed the first release.

Bit of history.
Matrix Games offers Steel Panthers World at War version of Steel Panthers originally from SSI.
It is a free download file.
SSI still owns the game, so Matrix Games can only offer it as a free download.
Any version, or any modifications to it can only be offered free.
The Mega Campaign software is Matrix Games property though.

Initial sales were a bit lame though.

Currently Matrix Games does not routinely offer it's games for sale as downloads. This is just a device to re market the out of stock Desert Fox and Lost Victories Mega Campaigns. Watchtower is still in stock I guess, it has not been offered as a downloadable file yet.

For the other replies though, I will have to let a more official voice speak.

Well done, David (and Mike for pushing it persistantly)!

I've downloaded many programs through Digital River and they're a top quality outfit with excellent customer service (if needed).

I could have sworn I read in there someplace that these were the fully patched and updated versions...

In any case, there's also now a "Patch" disk available, for only $4.99 that has all the mods and patches on it.

The patch is for those who already have the MCs on CD, Bernie. Those who order the new versions won't need it.

Those who have the previous versions but can't find the patches can find them on this inexpensive CD.

It beats trying to chase them down on the internet.

I think that is the case. Does anyone on the Matrix staff know if the game is part of the download or just the Mega Campaign?

WB

It seems a question from earlier in this thread got passed over. Does anyone know if MCWT still has the full version of spwaw on the CD and if so is this 7.0 or 7.1. I myself would like to know as I still have a modem and downloading 400 some odd megs takes forever:rolleyes:

The MC WatchTower comes with SPWaW V 7.0, assuming we are talking about the original release CD which appears to be the case (see Les the Sarge above).

The patch to V7.1 is only about 2 MB (plus a couple of OOB updates).

Cheers,
Reg.
