Dears.

Hello to all. After reading this forum for a while, I finally register. This is my first post.

Playing with 1.12.04 and 1.12.05, I notice that truck use is much lower than with previous versions. On average three times less trucks are needed. For example, playing as german on T7. At this moment, units are far from railheads. Truck use is 63k for a pool of 194k. With previous versions truck use was about the size of the pool.

I do not recall reading anything about this issue.

Yeah, this has been brought up a few times. It does seem that in v1.12, truck use is much lower and probably needs some rebalance. Currently, you don't really need to worry about truck usage at all.

This has been noticed by others also - although without late game experience to be sure this will occur later in the game.

The supply system has been extensively altered in v1.12.x - and in as much as the lorry pool use is about how many supplies could be delivered this has been radically altered.

Vehicle use up to v1.11.x was a big problem for the Axis during the blizzard and a constraint on the Soviet army late war. Potentially the Soviet side will no longer need to evacuate as many vehicle factories as possible or be restricted to 20 or so tank corps anymore.

why would they downgrade trucks. Trucks are needed for mobile army. If you have plenty of trucks supply will follow

If you have massive number trucks and you get one turn with good mp's and then a second turn really bad mp's b/c now the tank unit looks to some city that's too far away for week 2 supplies, then you will not have enough fuel to sustain operations.

Now if that's incorrect, just let me now.

Shortage of trucks should hinder, and visa versa.

I was not yet at blizzard, or even at mud season, but I can imagine that it will be much easier.

In old versions lorry need used to be multiples of the pool. Although it is a long time since it was that bad, in v1.11.x even using all the methods of vehicle conservation and use reduction you would still expect to be over by miles.
