Fellow admirals...how does one gain access to old, archived threads within this forum? What I'm looking for specifically are the land, air & naval OOB posts - they had TONS of useful info. My purpose is to tweak the Babes mod for historical accuracy in all manner of things, and make device (and many other) corrections to existing ships, a/c & LCUs. I've already started this endeavor but my sources are limited.

And a follow-on to this: my computer has been temperamental of late; it's getting long in the tooth and eventually I'll need to replace it. With that in mind, I'll need to save my scenario mod files to import to the new computer. Which files do I need to look for? I'm thinking they're all in the SCEN folder and marked as the scenario number extension. Do I need to look elsewhere, and what should I look for?

Have you used the search function.

Yes, look in the SCEN folder for any files that have your SCEN number. If you have any new art, look in the ART folder....GP

Have you used the search function. The babes scenarios are very accurate. What are you changing?

btd64, yes I attempted the search but was unsuccessful - either my skills using the search are inept or there's a different way to access archives. Hence my original question! Thanks for the SCEN info!

There is a filter button you can set to get access to threads that are more than a year old. Use the one that says "All Topics". This forums posts go all the way back to 2007.

I find Google search often works well to find things. If you are looking for something on, say, "pilots," type the following in the google search box in your browser:

site:matrixgames.com/forums + "War in the Pacific: Admiral's Edition" pilots

You can also use all the various types of search features of google to narrow things down further.

After you run one search, you can save the search as you can any search in your browser and then all you need to do is change where "pilots" is and hit enter. You don't need to type all the rest.

Shellshock - thanks for the input. I'd already attempted that; no joy. Panjack - thanks, I'll give it a go.

Panjack - that worked - thanks! Now, if only I can remember how to do this the next time I need it!

Here's what I've done:

1. Run the search.
2. Save what appears as a bookmark (or whatever it is called in your browser). This will save all the text you've entered in your search.
3. Next time you want to run a different search, just click on the bookmark you've saved (with the old search) and the old search will run. But you're not interested in the old search and so...
4. Edit the search term(s) in the google box and then hit enter.

By doing the above, you don't need to enter all that fancy google search stuff every time you run a search, or even remember it. You only need to click on the original bookmark you saved and replace the actual search term(s).

Excellent advice, Panjack. I found and bookmarked the OOB threads I was after, now I'll do the same for this.
