The movement sound for Sentinels starts with this loud crash, like an explosion. It's very sharp and much louder than the rest of their movement sound. I think that should be reduced in intensity.

If you want to do a quick fix for yourself in the meantime, the sound file is clearly marked in the game directory.

...\Shadow Empire\shadowsound\walker.wav

DasTactic, in one of his early videos, showed a trick to reduced the volume of that sound file. You basically replace that file with one of the same name and sound, just reducing the volume with something like Audacity or Adobe Audition.
