Hi all!
I could not find any uesfull info on this at first glance.
Was wondering if there is a way/workaround for scrolling the map using WASD keys or optional assignments (useful when a unit is clicked)?
The arrow keys as default is way off in an ergonomic/effective way to interact with the map - and it is too fast. An option to adjust this speed would be great.
I also do not use edge scrolling since it is very annoying for me.

A function of mouse wheel button that always scroll the map the way RMB do when in ESC-mode would be great!
This is a feature that works so well in WarPlan, why not try to make it so you can scroll the map this way using mouse middle button and, even when a unit is selected - that would be awesome!

Grateful for any news on this (very personal) issue.
Cheers,
Broms

Arrow keys - The game has been out for a while now. It is also difficult to change this as there are many hotkeys associate with the ASDW. It would mess up a lot of players. For WP2 it is on my list. This would be a major rework for me.

Hold right mouse button and drag to move map works and now you can use just the mouse.

Map edge scrolling you can turn off in the options menu (3rd toggle right side)
You can adjust the map scroll speed in the options also (3rd scale bar left side)

What could cut down on map scrolling is to have the map focus on a selected unit so the player could zoom out, click on a map location or unit and then zoom in with the game automatically cantering the map/screen on what was selected.

That is also in the options of the game. (7th button right side)
It centers on a unit you click on.

Thank you Alvaro Sousa for reply.
I am aware that the default use of WASD keys might mess up other functions. Why not put some effort in letting users assigning their own keyboard-inputs? The MMB works only when not a unit is selected, and that is really limiting.
You would like to select a unit, look at the options at hand including pan around the map.
Since this is designed in Unity I also would expect that it could be solved. The map paning is perfect as is, but why lock it when a unit is selected?

Is there a *.txt/*.xml file that I could tinker with whwn it comes to keyboard assignments?
Great game, lovin it!

I dont know what MMB is.

Some of the keys are used for map toggles that are WASD.
I'll think about how to do it.

Sorry, MMB = Middle Mouse Button. It would be good if that button could work as RMB (Right Mouse Button) do now, but also be active when a unit is selected. RMB is confusing things by working both as a Map panning tool (when no unit is selected) and a unit movement/action tool (when a unit is selected). This causes so many wrong moves/actions...

Yes, that is an argument for having 2 functions assigned to 1 button, I guess (and not being able to change it).
I can live with it. I love so many parts of WarPlan, maybe it will be added later on...
Thanks for responding.
