Why does my Village have hunger, even though I have enabled Emergency food. Can somebody solve that for me?

The private Part of the Economy is still puzzling to me (f.e. I have several mothballed private Assets in my Capital, although more than enough workers are present.

I think your citizens will mothball assets if the demand is too low to justify running it. EG if they have a private oil well but you are dumping 1500 Fuel on the market every second turn.

I can't click your link, so cant view the image.
But possible reasons for no food with emergency food can be:
- no logistical points available (in the route or the hex)
- not enough food in stock to give food to zone

For second part, you state you have enough workers available. Which workers do you mean? The "workers" are for your public assets (you pay their salaries). The Private economy uses "citizens" for their workforce.
In the example below the 24.600 workers are for your assets and the 15.800 are the amount of workers available for the private economy. So if that is low then they will close private assets.

I can't post links yet, so I can't embed imgur pictures. If you manually copy the link and delete all spaces you can see the picture.

Also the uploading pictures does not work for me somehow.

To the food problem:
My Village has a connection to the logistics network, I allowed emergency food, but I have 300 hunger in the village. No food seems to be used.

The problem with mothballed private assets:

mothballed are assets like casinos and Town customs.
My City has 260k people and only 95k private and 26k public jobs. the citizen are also building more Agri domes, but are not opening the mothballed assets.

Check the ITEMS tab for the zone.

The food problem...
The only thing I can think of is that there is a bottleneck somewhere else. The city itself has 1000 logistics, but do they reach all the way to the SHQ?
Also in the treasury report the amount of food given is listed, is that also 0?

The mothballed assets..
Can't see why they shouldn't open up the jobs unless they don't have enough money or something. Did that city have a decrease in pop in the past that caused the closure and then regained pop?

Just trying to figure it out with you :)

The emergency food was suddenly delivered, I do not know what changed, except that the population decreased...

As for the assets:
The city has been under siege a while ago, The happiness and population tanked then for a while. I assume that is the reason why they are closed. I just wonder how to open them up again, so my QoL wont be so babaric any more...

To be honest.. I don't know how to get the private industry to get back to work... I also encountered that assets where closed and never reopened...
Perhaps post this in the bugsection with the save file so vic can look at it?

I have the same problem with hungers. And I am not sure why this happens
My hunger village is the part of SHQ with a lot of food as topic starter has.
Moreover, in this my village I produce food in Agriculture Dome and this food is enough for whole SHQ, but all this food transfers to other zone and village's people are hunger.
Now I am trying to build another one agriculture buildings in this zone and other, but something is wrong in my undestanding of this economical moments

By default, the only Food consumers in a Zone (that you have to deal with) is Workers.
Population feeds itself primarily via private food, from their private dome farm.

Emergency food will increase the food consumption between a factor of 2 to an order of magnitude (x10).
So it is quite easy to lack the supply capacity and/or local production to actually feed them in a emergency.

Indeed. Unless I can't do otherwise, I avoid nationalizing private food producing Assets and hope the private sector can manage its food problems by itself.

Hmm. Thanks for info. It is very interesting. But I created this zone by myself and there wasn't private dome farm by default, as in other pre-defined zones.
So ... will my village die?

If I'm correct, assuming you have nominated a governor for this new zone and made sure to have checked Emergency Food distribution in the zone policy screen (can't remember if it's on or off by default, but I'm assuming it's off), you'll then just have to make sure the logistic link between the SHQ and the new zone is robust enough.

Each round, the zone will ask the SHQ for Food to distribute to the private citizens, and as zgrssd pointed out, you'll have to make sure the « pipe is wide enough » for all this Food to pass through.

At least that's my understanding, I admittedly lack experience with colonies and might be mistaken.

Great thanks for useful advice! I will check this screen and make sure that Emergency Food distribution is turned on.

I had reported much the same thing, and Vic identified the issue as the SHQ first sending food to units and zones, then sending the emergency food (from those depleted stocks and not always having enough) and only after all that did the SHQ receive food from zones. For now all you can do is stockpile a lot of food in your SHQ.

I do have a similar problem right now. As new zones do not start with priate food assets, they need to have Emergency food enabeled - and import the food for workers and population. Wich is a giant logistics issue.

I can not get them to save the 1000 Private Credits to plopp one down. My best chance might be place a public asset outside the city.
I usually keep E-Food enabeled all the time anyway. So once they finally decide to build, the consuption will just go down. On the map in question, I do still have to import the water.
But between Production bonuses and the food being there for consumption the turn it is produced (rather then needing to ship in) that might still be worth it.

I still have no idea why no food was delivered to my starving village, probably some logistics bottleneck.

I think I know however, why my other city did not reactivate these assets. The City had some food deficits (solved by emergency food) which it had to correct first. After several Agri domes were build, the other assets were reactivated.
