Usually, the next turn after I conquer the city of a minor zone, all the minor's undestroyed units disappear and all the remaining hexes change to my control. I just conquered a minor's city and did receive the vid stating "Conquest acquired us a new zone: Robbespierre". But its undestroyed units still remain and they still control the rest of the Robbespierre zone. If I go to the strategic map I can click on those remaining hexes and it says they belong to the minor I just conquered. I played through another turn, but no change. Looks like I have to hunt down those stubborn farmers and make an example out of them. Anyone know what causes this? I looked in the manual in the Conquest section but there's no mention of this.

I'm not sure what determines whether you get a clean conquest or have to pursue to remaining armies. Is it just a die roll? Or are there some conditional rules that determine which outcome you get?

I rarely get the clean conquest; maybe 1 or 2 times out of 10. I watch the various Youtubers and it seems they mostly get the clean conquest. <shrug>

In this game, so far I've had clean conquests for 4 out of 6 minors. It's not culture related. Maybe it's the % of the zone you've conquered before city conquest. I'll keep track and see.

I believe if you look under the rep button you will find a report on near by nations it will tell you stuff about them and may let you know in advance who will fight to the bitter end. Also are they mutants, mutants never surrender.

Thanks Twotribes. They are farmers. My other clean conquests have been with farmers but these guys are especially stubborn.
