For some reason I am getting no fighter intercepts this turn, for 12 attacks bombing air bases with fighters on them.
I have not changed my air doctrine, same as usual.
According to the combat report they are day bombings.
Some are on a working rail line.
Weather is Clear.
Any ideas ?

Last turn they shot down about 500 Soviets under roughly the same conditions.
The only thing I can see different is that this turn all my Fighters are on Range 1 whereas last turn most of them were on range 1 and just a few on range 100.

500 was big.

and then no coverage next turn. I thought odd and maybe you were resting the fighters due to fatigue.

Do you mean range 1 or range 30 hex 1? I'm not sure range 1 allows them to defend. I only set range 30 minimum.

Range of 1, that is what I usually set them to if they are fatigued. They do intercept their own hex at that range usually.

As far as I know there is no facility to set on map fighters to rest, is there ?

Surprised to read this. I always assumed that at 1 they don't fly at all.

Did a test and looks like I was mistaken, seems they need over 30 to fly.
