but if you do not want to follow that advice and delete your whole computer ...

Most of the bad gateway messages I got came after matrix did some forums upgrade. And was always solved by clearing the cache on my browser.


open up a dos prompt, here are a couple of commands to try:

ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renewall

you type those after the prompt, then try open a page that you have had problems with. The older pages you are looking at are probably in your cache . . .
