Just logged in to say that the New Cards are Amazing and that the character portraits look very promising as well. Hope for a mod, I don't see a reason why Vic wouldn't put them into the game if you'd allow it since they are a straight up upgrade.

Pymous as an amazing art (he did my avatar by the way), but it’s also quite far from the original.
Some people don’t like the "shadow only, no face" aspect, some like to see more details etc.
I do love Pymous style and i’ll mod the game as soon as it’s possible, but i understand it’s not for everyone.
So, including different "sets" within the game, and having a "Mod" menu ingame, would be the best option i think, to please everyone.

Hello and thanks guys,
Like Tchey said it's better to leave people the choice. An ingame "mod" menu would be nice indeed to switch/active mods.

Some new painted cards on my side:

I absolutely love the cards, Pymous. I will use these right away whenever you are finished.

I'm also in favor of a mod menu in game.

Lovely.

You can always use JSGME. This is a little program which can activate and deactivate Mods for every game. Simmer use this extensively. I use JSGME for Shadow Empire, too.

Great work,

How to get this mod?

Is there some 4K artwork available to use as background screen?

Thanks guys!
@kosmoface: didn't knew about JSGME, I'll check that, thanks.
@mssm45: Not available for download because I want to finish painting all the cards first (total >200)

By the way, I'll probably need some help at some point for savegames files with many cards in order to identify all of them (or maybe Vic can help directly prociding a savegame with all cards?)

Some news ones:

You should probably consider releasing an early version. Reaching 200 cards is probably gonna take a while.
I'd say if you have drawn art for all the cards that the supreme command council generates, it would probably be good enough, cause those are the ones that you will see most often in the game.
Would be these ones:

Might be just my impression but to me its interesting to see how your art sytle on the cards is slightly but steady getting more and more refined over the course of the thread. The first ones had more this Beholder-like comic look while the later ones advanced into something more mature which I personally welcome.

@Destagron: Ok maybe I'll try to prepare an "early" release when I'll have painted more or less 50% of the cards. Yes I try to paint the most "standards" ones first, but some are missing because I didn't get them in my current games (I like to see the existing one, and read the description to paint them".
@Multipurposecanine: Thanks yes you are right ^^ . I'll probably repaint some of the older cards to fit with the same global style.

Hey Zue! Nice to see you here :) Thank you again for your support! :D
Yes I would be so happy to have 100% of my time dedicated to painting, especially for such kind of games, for the people. Maybe one day, it's my dream, I'll be able to break free from the system, with support of people like you, to paint for the community :)

And here we are, new cards!

Great work Pymous, i too look forward to a mod-pack! I also would love to have some of the war/Soldier images as full-screen desktop wallpaper too, with your username on bottom corner.

Would be cool if by your permission (if you do release some full-screen wallpaper images) if we could add some text to the top left of the image eg name of our current Regime name and perhaps like 3rd Infantry Battalion and Regime icon, maybe game data stamp for a war campaign too; to personalize it a little- something easily done in Paint.net. We could then resize the image and post it as a forum signature/banner image. Credit to you of course.

Looking great! If you remade all the 2D cards, leader faces, and game screens, and sold it as an official DLC, I'd happily buy that.

The only art that I don't think needs to be remade are the units on the battlemap.

As for the terrains graphics, I like most of it, but those black starry-void canyons are pretty strange. Would love to see those remade.

Thanks guys!

@Daza99: For "wallpapers", I plan to paint the "events" images (VID), but it will requires many many hours for them, so first I want to finish the cards before switching to "events" images which could be used I think as wallpapers (some of them at least).

@AttuWatcher: Thanks! I agree that battlemap units and terrain graphics are really nice in the base game, and don't require any special "overhaul". But I have some ideas for them also, but if I try to do something, it will be at the very end of this project, so probably not before many many months ^^ . My current planning priority is cards>events>some misc images>heads (heads will be a huge challenge too).

Hop, new paints:

What is the person in the mystic temple one doing? Smashing a rifle?
I picture them more like festivals loving hedonists than proper anti-war activists, but oh well, it's your choice.

I think they are pouring some liquor from a drinking horn into their mouth.

I really like the different shades of shadows between foreground and background in this new batch.

Ooooh, NOW I get it.
The drinking horn and the flowing alcohol could be made more obvious. I thought it was a rifle and the alcohol was just part of the background colours.

To be fair, I must admit the horn somewhat resembles a carbine. It's the flowing liquid that put me on the right track.

Ahah, yes you are right it is a horn, but it is not obvious enough :p I'll fix it so you don't see a rifle hanging there anymore :p

Pymous, that work is really emotive (to me, feels like it subordinates the details for the raw emotion). It's evocative for me. Thanks for sharing!

Would you build the UI media around that style too?
