Here are the sites that I know of currently supporting SPWAW, the Charles Roberts Award Winning 20th Century Computer Wargame for the year 2000. ;) Rick Cloutier's SPWAW Website http://tankhead__1.tripod.com/ ---------------------- Fabio Prado's SPWAW Website http://www.fprado.com/armorsite/sp_waw.htm --------------------- Bonzo's Web site http://nwbattalion.tripod.com/ -------------------- Sarge's Web Site http://www.geocities.com/aurion_eq/index.html ------------------- Wild Bill's Raiders - Steel Chariots http://wbr.thegamers.net ------------------- The Steel Panthers Arsenal http://sparsenal.thegamers.net ------------------- Pac Rat's Site http://electricwar.tripod.com/ ------------------- Irish's SPWAW Site http://giz-spwaw.tripod.com/ ------------------- Double Deuce's SPWAW Site http://www.aspmall.com/ddmain/ -------------------- Red Baron's Web Site http://www.geocities.com/michaelnils/ ------------------- Fred Chlanda http://blake.prohosting.com/fchlanda/ ------------------- Have I missed any? Grenadier Richards and I were talking by long distance and he suggested a possible "Web Ring" for SPWAW. Would it not be a great thing to form a web ring to all these sites from which one could simply move one site to another? I'd like to see this happen. What about you? Wild Bill

I have a little tutorial made by Wild Bill Raider and Marc "Bayonet" Bellizzi, that I find very good... but it was very difficult to find in the original site (at the gamers.net or something). I found it just by wild luck! So, I put it in my website, so it is easy to. Is it OK with you? Wild Bill? Marc Bellizzi? The link: http://www.geocities.com/sinner_prairy/Steel/tactic_index.html And, in the future (when I can make it work again  ), I will upload a "SPWaW on Linux" tutorial.

Certainly, my friend. Post away. The Raiders are honored. No problem at all. I'll even add your site into my list for support sites. Nice going. I stand corrected on some of the addresses. They were from an older list. Sorry. I should have looked closer! Wild Bill

I agree fully...there's enough support for SPWAW that a webring should be started. Joe "Joss" Osborne

Bill, You know you've been working late hours getting v6.0 out when you forget the address of the website that bears your name! Enjoy your 4th.

I think we should! The SP Webring has always supported me when I was doing stuff with SP1-3 and when I switched over to SPWAW they continued to do so. I would recommend that those who aren't already and want to be listed, contact the SP Webring and add their site. SPWAW is after a SP based game. Personally, I would be proud to be listed on both. There are alot of SPWW2 players that frequent the SP Webring. I like to think that they will visit my site thorugh the SP Webring and realize what they are missing. Maybe even convert a few along the way. I am all for it.

Brent appears to feel the Steel Panthers web ring is ignoring us here? I wouldnt know, I am to busy forgetting there are other places online other than here myself. A Web ring would likely be a good idea. But then again how could it be a bad idea?. As long as its kept short and simple. The Matrix crowd obviously wont have any time to indulge on trifles. All it would require is a no bells or whistles functionality.

I had a few minutes to spare this afternoon, so I created one. You can find the main page at: http://webring.ectopia.net/spwaw/ At the moment, it only contains one site (mine :)). I was going to prefill it with the above links, but realised that that would break the ring. So if you want in, email the approved url for your site to me and I'll set it up. BTW, Thanks RH & WB! [edit to repair the damage...] All fixed! Oh the joys of mixing name-based and IP-based virtual web domains... [ July 05, 2001: Message edited by: ectizen ]

*bump* SP:WaW Resource WebRing Anyone else interested? Two sites so far! One of them isn't mine! This is a fairly basic webring, with a single feature - a simple rating system to help categorise the sites. Take a look. You know you want to.

For some unexplained reason the owner of the Steel Panthers webring removed the Raiders and TGN from their webring and have not invited anyone associatd with SPWaW to be a part of the SP webring. You will have to ask Bill "Leondus" Hutchinson, the owner of the webring for his reasons.

It may have something to do with the webring being taken over by Yahoo. It took me weeks to get back in the loop with them and get the links working. Actually it was Leondus who walked me through it. But that may have been because I was still in with the SP3 crowd. Either way we need our own for SPWAW. IMHO!

Thanks, WB. Just got access set from the new house. Gotta get v6 up and running, though. Lots to do. Household 6 seems to have other priorities. Go figure... As always, I appreciate all of the hard work that Matrix is putting in. Mike

*final bump* (& sig test :)) There's still time to jump on the bandwagon, and join the SP:WaW Resource WebRing! Just imagine the prestige of having your site associated with the other big names in the 'Ring! So why don't you take a look, and see who your new neighbours could be! This message was an unpaid political announcement, on behalf of "ectizen's World Domination through Wargaming Support Tools Party".

I only voted for it once! Honest! :) Everyone, feel free to vote early and often to influence your favourite site! It's not supposed to be a method for keeping score of "which site is best", it simply a way of letting people what kind of things they're likely to find at a site. For example, this lets people interesting in just playing the game know which sites are likely to contain what they're after, and which sites aren't. Just remember what it says on the front page of the ring: the voting system is experimental.

I know, my friend. Just kidding! After all, if you can't vote for yourself, then you must be doing something wrong :D For all that work, you ought to get two votes...maybe three ;) Wild Bill
