I was playing the game just fine till I downloaded all the up dates then it just would not load up any more. I went in and checked all my updates and I was at directx 8.1 so I updated it to directx 9 and downloaded a new driver for my sound card and it still did not work. I still have not been able to get back into the game I even went in and deleted out the whole game and started over but that did not work. I start the game up wait about a minute the world shows up then wait about another minute the starships logo shows up then another minute all the different areas show up at the top and then it just like stops right there it will not let me get into the game oppontions minues or nothing the musics playing and everything but it will not let me play I need help I really do like playing these game but I'm about ready to give up and go play another game but I thought I would give this a try first:(

Sounds odd. Go into the Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs list and see if there are multiple Starships Unlimited Divided Galaxies entries. If so, remove them all and start again. When you install a patch, ensure that it's writing to the correct folder. It *doesn't* by default. Do other games still run with your updated system?

You can run a utility called DxDiag that will print out all your specs according to DirectX. It will show you what DirectX sees. The program is located at Start > Settings > Control Panel > DirectX

Press the button called 'DxDial ...' and it will generate the information for you. When it completes press the 'Save All Information ...' button and it will prompt you to save the info to text file. You can attach the text file to an email to me (support@apezone.com) and I'll take a look.
