My partner in games has been hosting with an open 1944 port. We sometimes can play even when it's only 1 red bar each. We play a number of battles in a row, everything working fine. But we can't finish an operation in one day. When we try to start that operation another day we get to "exchanging game data" and then the game hangs up - fails to work. This has happend many times now. We cannot get a saved op or campaign to work when we come back to it on a different day.

Is there some sort of secret to getting an operation saved properly so it will actually work the next time the save file is accessed?

It's getting harder and harder to play multiplayer. I almost never see anything other than one red bar or zero bars. Why is this happening? I seldom see anybody in the lobby now.

Are you getting some sort of error message when the game 'hangs up' or is it just waiting?

Do you recall what screen you were on when you stopped playing previously?

If you can provide the saved game file I will take a look at it.

I will check on the status of the lobby side to double check there are no issues there.

We don't get an error message, we just get long term waiting on the "exchanging game data" screen. Eventually, we give up and abort the game. The extremely long times make it unlikely hte game will actually load. So how long should we wait? Hours?

Thanks.

We got the new version of the game installed and now we have been able to play operations much better. We were able to play saved operations that were started with an earlier version. Maybe the new version fixed something for us. We did have a couple of strange cases where a 60mm mortar shot destroyed a Panzer 4 tank.
We play a co-op game at Veteran versus regular for the AI. But we still beat the AI almost every battle. So I guess we will have to go to the elite setting to weaken ourselves enough to make it more exciting.

What I'd like to know now is will there be any new Close Combat games in the future? Have there been enough sales to keep the series going? I'm worried as I don't see many players in the lobby.

Hi SgtShultz2 - glad to hear that the latest update resolved the problem.

Yes, future versions of Close Combat are planned. That's about all I can say right now. ;)
