The German system of Auftragstaktik, or "Mission command tactics", was initially inherently superior but failed during the war due to the requirement that all orders be expressed as one compound word. With the increasing sophistication of warfare, the words became too long to be trasmitted over the radio or indeed shouted over the battlefield.
Yes. For example, late in the war the Germans may be launching a counterattack in Austria. Perhaps their objective was the headquarters of the Association of Subordinate Officials of the Head Office Management of the Danube Steamboat Electrical Services. Well the German for that is something like, "Erobern Sie das Hauptquartier des Donaudampfschiffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtenge".
