ORIGINAL: Telemecus So do you think he fought his way out? No, it was a mercy killing after the appalling 4th season. There's talk of a reboot, though. There always is. And to be honest it was such a great series it deserves a reboot. My theory though. The Puppeteer who used to be Servalan's PsyOps expert turns out to have secretly been a rebel. So when they were making the evil Blake clones to kill Blake, he secretly got the clone master to make lots of Good Blake clones who are actually those troopers under their helmets. So in the next moment the great reveal is the good Blakes take off their helmets and pledge allegiance to Avon. Avon is so overcome with their patriotism that he gives up their previous cynicism and agrees to lead the new rebellion. They accidentally find yet another super duper spaceship left behind by a future race (again!) and run off and live happily ever after? Maybe...but could IMIPAK be used to kill the clones? Blake is a replaceable character; Avon, Vila, Servalan, and Orac are less so. Orac could take over the Federation if so motivated. Was IMIPAK the thing that could mark you and then could be used to kill you anytime anywhere across the galaxy? I could see the potential of it to an assasin wanting lots of time to make a get away. But never really understood why it was considered so amazing otherwise? I think they thought something with the mass of a planet could block the trigger signal? Vila - I have a headache Avon – Have you considered amputation? Its funny how it was meant to be about Blake and ended up being about Vila and Avon! I think the Simpson was supposed to be about Bart but ended up being about Homer. And Dallas was supposed to be the Romeo and Juliet of Bobby Ewing and Victoria Pincipal, but just got taken over by JR. It is glorious when the break out character takes over the show! I thought Cally had some interesting story lines. Some of the later series characters like denerya and del tarrant ... meh Orac was good. But for any reboot would need a better base unit as would all the computer and artifical intelligence characters. Yes on IMIPAK - same episode as the Puppeteer. It had a limited range, never specified. Blake was predictable. I think the writers ran out of ideas for him. I wish Jenna had stayed for the 3rd season - she was under used when the Servalan/Travis plots took over. It was good that their computers had a personality. That is the problem for a character without faults ... boring. He was always fighting for justice against the evil federation. Just like Superman, and they had to invent Kryptonite to make him interesting. The others were just convicts who by accident got mixed up in the freedome struggle. They had no reason to act superior and that made them interesting. Avon – Auron may be different Cally, but on Earth it is considered ill-mannered to murder your friends while committing suicide. Can you remember one memorable line from Blake? I saw Paul Darrow at a sci-fi con in 1985. He was very polished as a speaker. If he was very polished, was it with high gloss, semi-gloss, or just a dull finish?
