If you are in full screen and use the Prt Scrn key, then you have to save and exit the game at that point. Then open a graphic program and place it via the clipboard, so you can then save it as an image.

I use Screenhunter 7.0 It requires you to surrender a F key for snaps and another for video. It has a pop down tab you can use to change your settings. I use F9 for screenshots and F8 for video. I don't use any of the F keys in the game so it doesn't affect me anyway. I set it to always take full screen of whatever is on the screen, and then I crop the result as needed.

It doesn't interrupt the game except to put a box telling you it took the shot, which you have to close. Then you just click on the screen to return to command mode in the game. If you take a screen shot during playback, it short circuits some of the graphics momentarily until the next stopping point. For instance, if you take a shot while there's a representation of planes dropping bombs, the flak stops being portrayed, but that goes back to normal after you get the summary for that action. If those planes are attacking ships, you'll miss the bomb or torpedo hits being displayed. If you take a shot of a sub under attack, you'll stop seeing the depthcharge explosion representations.

You can take shots by putting the cursor up to the pop down tab and clicking on the camera, as opposed to using an F key, but I like the control of having my finger on the F key to get just the shot I want out of a video presentation. Moving the cursor, finding the camera on the tab and clicking it takes too much time.

Here's the menu for that app. You can see I have the default set to full screen. I had to use my camera because you can't take a screen shot of the screen shot menu, ha! I have the snaps go to my desktop (as you can see in the background). I'm saving those in case I ever want to make an AAR of the game I'm playing currently.

That is one Halle of a good wallpaper choice!

Thanks for all these tips. Nothing I have tried so far works. Is there any kind of hardware you can get that kind of clicks into the USB port with a button to take a picture or something like that.
Anyway I propose to put this on hold for a few moments because I'm just about to get a new PC with Windows 10 which I assume has its own problems to sort out.
I used Win 7 until I was forced to get Win 10, and the process for taking a screen shot is the same:
1. Hit Prt Scr - nothing appears to happen but the entire image on your screen is copied to the clipboard, which you cannot see. 2. The clipboard can only hold ONE item, so do not save anything else to the clipboard by using the copy [CTRL c] or delete [CTRL x] commands until you have done the next 2 steps 3. Open a graphics editing program (Paint works fine, and it comes with Windows) and select "New" for a new canvas. 4. Paste the image on the clipboard onto the canvas [CTRL v] or right click the canvas and choose Paste. 5. Crop and annotate the image how you want it to appear and save it as a .jpg file (the forum software only accepts .jpg and .gif images). Take note of which subdirectory the picture is stored in. 6. In the game, open a post window by using the "Reply" button on a previous post in the thread (do not use "fast reply" at the bottom - it does not allow for picture embedding). 7. Type your text, check the box "Embed picture in post" and then click on the text "Click here to upload!" . 8. Navigate to where your image is stored, select (Open) it and then keep selecting OK until your post is made to the thread.

I do not use Tracker. About the only thing I have seen about difficulties some people have getting started is that it uses an older version of some Adobe program, which is normally replaced during Windows Upgrades - so you have to go online and download the older version (16 bit vs 32 bit?) program again and install it. There should be chatter about it in the Tracker thread. witpqs is pretty good with Tracker advice, you could PM him.

BB thank you for this. One thing that was not mentioned was you also have to use the Windows key at the same time as printscreen to make it work. Now it's working fine thank you very much. Now I need to try in the game when I get the turn.

I do not have to use the Windows key on my system to make Prt Scr work with Win 10 or my previous Win 7. Must be some differences in the BIOS of our systems.

Shift-PrtScn (save to clipboard), open paint, paste (from clipboard).
From they you can do what you will.
Note any graphics app works provide you can paste from the clipboard. Depending how you run the game depends upon whether or not you have to close it prior to opening paint. This will have no effect on clipboard provided you copy or cut nothing else inbtween, it alway holds the last thing.
You don't need any fancy programs, that's purely down to choice.
