No invasions that I see...

Pearl Harbor had one battleship eat a midget sub...the Iboats there have dispersed according to naval search.

2 x 500 llbs bomb hits on the Hiryu is not to be sniffed at.

Flight deck penetration I presume, and maybe even fires?

Today, I learned that if you set a base to stockpile supplies, they show up blue in the industry screen. Kind of handy.

These boys can get to Luzon in three days, at least the ones that don't break down.

My guess is that NJP ignores Luzon for a bit and focuses on Palembang and Singers...there are torpedoes in Luzon.

Houston, Boise, Marblehead and DD untouched...

3 Squadrons of B17s are 100% ready, the fourth has 10 disabled planes (it is the headquarters squadron, size 3...I wonder if this is to get some more planes at start?).

First turn is always funny, Thracian made it quite far...Scout and Thanet stayed in Hong Kong, and poor Scout got blown out of the water by Mabels.

Our Chinese bombing force did fly recon, the bombers set to hit Shanghai didn't fly. DL is low...and there is 3000+ supplies at Wenchow.

With an average recon skill of 19, the Chinese bomber pilots did a great job of gathering intel over Shanghai.

The Queen is going to Panama Canal, and from there to East Coast USA...and will make off map runs to Cape Town. I wonder what her transit times will be?

Edit, rethinking this, with the Grace Liners and the Matson Liners heading for East Coast from San Diego and LA...she probably isn't needed there...but rather for a quick run to San Diego and back to Oz. Or I could send her to Cape Town...

I have to revisit Babes website and relearn what a Pioneer squad does...

What to do with Clemsons?

My basic instinct is to form 8 size 3 or 6 size 4 Destroyer Squadrons. They pack a nice torpedo spread...aren't really good with CVs.

Or to eventually put six of them with a slow battleship. Since I have all my slow battleships, the demand for destroyers will be really high come 1943.

There is basically 0 chance Japan pulls some stupid west coast stunt, but you still have to cover your bases. Destroyers and local minesweepers will aid in detecting any task forces coming in and will give time for the CD guns to respond better.

Rather than get both battlewagons finished quickly, we are going to concentrate on Warspite. Colorado just goes into refit for radar anyhow...

Warspite will be able to form up with some American destroyers and forma a strong stand off force near Midway/Wake.

Since the KB is at Singers, we will will focus on holding Wake...won't bother with Marcus this game as that pony is out...but perhaps a Kurile expedition before runways are built up? I bet Japan puts an HQa on Hokkaido asap. It would be nice to get some strategic vp early...but is it doable?

Everything is doable, you just have to figure out how.

I like to use the 4 pipers converted to APDs. They can make a decent Fast Transport, or haul supplies for an invasion convoy. Their ASW value goes up to 6 earlier than other US escorts.

Without looking things up, I do believe that the USMC Pioneers are like combat engineers but I don't know if they work construction.

In stock games, Pioneer Bns are engineers with some AV and AA and a little support. They are not all combat engineers - the AV comes from embedded infantry too.

I thought ships undergoing refit/upgrade could not accelerate repairs under any circumstances? In that case. leaving both BBs on normal repairs would be the best option.

These two girls are being repaired now...you can get both of them repaired in under 30 days by jiggering with the settings...but I want Warspite out there.

Just a ton of free engineers at start...plus lots more naval squads than stock, it seems to me...

Those are Australian units, he is referring to US Marine Pioneer units.

I don't recall ever having seen a US Pioneer unit, so I said what I have seen. So many wrinkles in this mod!

We need to get AD's and AE's and AGPs here to rearm CLs and DDs and PT boats. Disbanding the PT boats at Pearl will give us a jump start as soon as they cycle thru.

Usually Japan has a tough time getting troops here quickly, and normally it is Naval Guard type units. We might have a chance at defending Rabaul with small ships and perhaps cause Japan to fall off their timetable a bit during the amphibious phase.

The sad fact is that Japan pretty much can go anywhere and take anything...so real care needs to be exercised at what the Allies are willing to use to throw the Japanese off their game early.

The Louisville is too large, but is the only ship close so she has to go...but hopefully she will be replaced by hordes of destroyers and a few light cruisers.

There are four squadrons of 18 Kingfishers that arrive quickly this month...one is already here at LA. They will be set to naval attack low, and will be sent here. They can fly from dot bases and really savage shipping that has no fighter cover. I know that most AFBs use them for training, but PDU off, screw that.

Pioneer Squads...they seem to add to shore party strength too, which is loading and unloading I think. Plus combat (18 soft, no anti armor).

The Colorado still goes into upgrade at the end of the 30 days ... unless you want to use her without the radar upgrade...
