As in previous campaigns, strategy is quite same. This time I probably won't play as aggressively in Burma as I did. i'll just post highlights and monthly summary.

And now since this is with Andymac's newer AI files, I have absolutely no idea which script IJ AI picks.

Start was not auspicious...

Overall, I suffered few casualties.

BC Repulse has 97 flotation, so it's miracle if she makes it to Singers. PoW unscathed, relocating to Batavia.

Lost one BB and one DD at PH, but rest are not in good shape. Won't sink tho.

I'll switch to 2 day turns after this, to speed up the game and help AI a bit.

As you can see, this time KB did stay around PH.

I am evacuating subs from Manila to Soerabaja (later Darwin) and S-boats to Brisbane.

Some surface action, didn't go well for Allies. 2 US CVs are still parked next to Wake I.

2 brigades of 8th AUS Div are soon moving from Singapore to Port Moresby. They will be joined by Cebu Base Force when I get it out. With 3 "bird" battalions, I will be able to form 8th AUS Div. All other unit in PNG are withdrawing to PM plus float planes are evacuating units from Rabaul and Kavieng.

5 fighter (P-40E and F4F-3) and 5 bomber (B-26) squadrons are en route to Sydney from San Francisco. Desperate need of air power within SW Pacific area.

2 Indian brigades landed to Port Blair. That I am going to keep, but will let AI take whole Burma this time. I am going to keep that and Port Moresby.

To add...2 brigades to Port Blair was mishap...I was going to land Gurkha brigade there but mixed the TFs... All were en route to Singapore.

Something to remember in early war:

Betties/Nellies with torpedoes are DEADLY.

IJA tanks will roll over your Chinese (and to extent Commonwealth troops) with shock attacks, since you often lack AT weapons.

TIP:

There are buttons to set bases under whole command to build Ports/AF/Forts. Find them and use them for Canada, Mainland USA and Soviet Union. Forts you don't really need there, but other options are handy.

Saves you butt-load of time.

Those Lilys suck...had to even check what sort of plane that was.

And unescorted bomber raids to Wake I. are giving my VFs good practice.

I’ve got this book that researched why the RAAF didn’t have any fighters in Australia in 1941.
https://www.amazon.com.au/Wounded-Eagle-Bombing-Australias-Defence/dp/174110825X

It’s been years since I read it, but from hazy memory the author pinned a decent share of the blame on ACM Burnett, RAF who was appointed in 1940.

Not sure what the RNZAFs excuse was, but once you get the Kiwis flying Corsairs they earn their keep!
