Hello,
I just started the newest version. V3.2? Anyway, It’s about 1300Z on FEB 17. I noticed that I have not received any messages....I checked the event triggers and discovered that the times are set for MAR 17.

OK found the same error in two 'unit enters area' triggers (for the B-52).

Here is the fix. If you've already started there is no need to restart, you can either fix those two triggers to read 17-2-94 or ignore it and those events won't happen.

Don’t know how difficult it would be but you could add some RAF Hawk T1a with the air intercept mod as aggressors but fit them out with Snebs unfortunately I don’t think that’s an option in game as it wasn’t a standard load out.

They should be the GR3s, I'll change them up in CF1. They are really only here for training and are the last of the GR.3s, I don't think that GR7s ever made it to Belize in real life.

Hawks - now that is a good idea. I suppose there is just about enough time to get them flown over and even as Air intercept they can take pressure off the Harriers, and they can strafe. Used them in Eisenhower moves North but they don't generally see combat. To fit them with SNEBs I'd just use the Finnish Hawk 51 instead of the Brit version - would that be a thing edit: he says looking at the photo without seeing it!? Flight of 4 probably...

Sorry no TOW for the Lynx. I don't think they would have had them there considering the role and the maintenance issues on missiles, never mined trying to fire a wire guided missile in a jungle area. I'll check on the SNEBS, they seem reasonable for jungle ops, may just need to change up the DB version I'm using.

Right was having a look what lynx carried in operation Barras but that was apparently just a minigun I was sure they had one with Tows. I’ve heard lots of stories of them been able to carry rocket pods and 20mm guns but I’ve never seen pictures outside of the lynx 3 demonstrator then again I’ve seen pictures of Wessex gunship that’s got 2 rocket pods what look like m1919 mgs above them and a GPMG or 2 in the cabin so I am inclined to believe it’s possible and that if it actually happened it was with probably during some clandestine work with 657 SQN AAC. oh and a link of the weird Wessex gunship I’ve read a book (Scram!) by the crew of 1 that was in the Falklands it didn’t see action because during an air attack it landed on Ship and it got taken into a hanger. the crew never got it back till after the war! https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205215014

That is a lot of stuff strapped on to that baby! I suppose if you need it for a special mission you can do almost anything.

The problem with TOW is the wires - and the need to be able to see something on the ground at range (up to 3.75Km). Hard enough in Germany, great on the prairies, near impossible in heavy forest. Ohhh and don't fire them across power lines unless you want to see sky rockets in flight! I'm sure every German village would be out of power and phone service within 2 hrs of a unit taking up a defensive position near them.

I see you're spot on about the SNEB on the GR.3. Did you want to put that in the DB thread or would you like me to? I'll put some SNEBs at the base anticipating the change.

Hi guys,
The average Wessex Naval version could carry AS.12 or SS.11 missiles as well as a door mounted 7.62mm GPMG, RN troop carrying ones had a door mounted 7.62mm GPMG, Army Lynx's at that time had TOW I Believe

Yes they did for sure. However I don't believe they would have had any in Belize considering the mission and the terrain. That is speculation on my part but reasonable I think.

I was in Belize in the early 2000's and the Lynx's were mainly waist door guns and HMP 50cal Pods one each side

I do wonder why the U.K. is so reluctant to show non standard weapon fits on its aircraft like the one you mentioned.
Hell it was only a Little while ago I found we still had depth charges for the wildcats and I assume merlin.

Oh and Gunner I think the lynx have Tows in CF1 I seem to remember them being very devastating, if they are getting removed maybe add some 81mm mortars to the infantry sections to make up for the loss

We used to use MK.11 Depth Charges on shallow setting against "Go Fasts" Off South America who were drug running , the Lynx dropped acouple of hundred yards in front of them to stop them, failing that a Royal Marine in the Helicopter would shoot out the engines with a sniper rifle, the US LEDET unit onboard couldnt believe we could use a depth charge in the ROE !

Ok here is the final. Going to community page.

RAF Hawks (using Kenyan Hawk 52 for now) are in the Bahamas on the way into theatre. Ammo for them is in Jamaica and Belize

Having some difficulty freeing the hostages on this one...I've taken out the infantry surrounding the office building and have had my own units stationed there for probably at least four or five hours so far. Is there something I'm missing?

Must be, I can't remember how long you need to be there but it is less than that.

I'll check it out.

Thanks

You need to have your infantry units inside the very small zone around the building for 15 minutes for the event to trigger.

Are your units maybe a bit too far away? Or was the building accidentally destroyed?

Edit: Just tried it, and it's working for me.

I've had a unit about 7 meters from the building for some time..but it's considered mechanized infantry (since apparently Carl Gustav equipped units dropped out of helicopters/planes come with APCs? I don't ask questions about CMO's cargo mechanics)...would that make a difference?

That might be it. The trigger is set to Mobile_Personnel and the mech unit is probably classified as Mobile_vehicle. I'll change it to any land facility.

Thanks for the catch

Finally finished this one! Final score was 926 (Major Victory). I was able to knock Honduras out of the war, but not Nicaragua and pretty much every listed target in Belize was secured. This was a fun one (granted, I've yet to come across a Northern Fury scenario that isn't enjoyable, but nonetheless). You managed to push the ground aspect of CMO beyond what it has any business modelling, but it seems to have worked out for the most part. Losses and expenditures will go at the end of this post if anyone is curious.

This scenario can definitely be considered a finished product, but if you ever do decide to come back to it I think there's a couple minor things that might be worth addressing:

1) Give the rebel infantry the ability to retake objectives instead of simply fire all their weapons at (apparently) indestructible villages. This would force the player to actually hold the objectives, instead of the current situation where the player can just take the objective once and run away with no consequences.

2) Give points (towards the whatever counter calculates Nicaragua's willingness to fight status) for heavily damaging structures. For whatever reason, the A/C Weather Shelters seem to be almost impossible to completely destroy (I even targeted one with 6x Walleyes, to no avail!). Checking the editor after I finished, most of the ones I had hit were at 99.7% damage.

That's all I can think of. Great job, as always!
