How many of you out there are playing the Mega-campaign with limited intel turned on? And what are you experiencing? I have always played with limited intel in East and West front scenarios and I've found it very tough but it feels right. However, in the Mega-campaign (ver. 6) I've been stumbling into unseen prepared positions with both leg and mobile units and getting cut to pieces. In the wooded and mixed terrain of Europe, I accepted that. But ... while I know that North Africa is not a flat, featureless surface, it seems a bit much to always completely miss a prepared position from 100 meters out. Anybody else bloody and frustrated? Or am I simply going about things in the wrong way?

I am really beginning to hate the 2Lbr AT Gun. My Pz and AC are getting creamed by these guns. Unless they are mounted on Portees they sometimes get 2 or 3 turns of shots from long range at my armor before my troops can even spot them. You can see my progress on the map by following the trail of dead and disabled armor. :( [ July 06, 2001: Message edited by: SAMWolf ]

Not necessarily. There's a sequence of photos in the wartime "Signal" magazine showing Afrika Korps troops going out to their position. The sequence shows them literally disappearing into the sand-less than 100 meters from the photographer. Given the glare, dust, heat shimmer (in summer) thunderstorms (in winter), it's not at all unlikely.
