I just experienced the synch bug playing as the Allied player. It's a very rare occurrence for me. Some of my games, with close to 1000 turns or more, have had no synch bugs noticed.

I compared the combat report created when I run the replay with the combat report created when I load the actual turn, as the Allied player. The reports are identical throughout the night phase, and for part of the day phase. The reports differ with a sub versus sub encounter in the real file, an encounter that did not occur in my replay. From that point on, the report from the replay does not match the actual report. Some encounters, particularly ASW ones, are different. Most encounters are in both but with small differences. Number of shell hits, how many times it says "DD such-and-such fails to find sub, continues to search..." That type of stuff. And of course, in the replay, my planes did fly to Oita, attacking the airfield and task force there. In the real report, that never happened as if weather canceled flights to Oita in the real report, but in the erroneous replay, the planes did fly. My bad luck seemed to be the weather cancellations in the real turn.

No conclusion to be drawn here. Just an observation that this synch bug seemed to begin at some point in the replay, and then everything past that point in the replay did not match the actual turn.

I have found the same thing. It never seems to start being out of sync, it happens somewhere during the turn. I would suspect that random number is being called in one and not the other, possibly a FoW thing.
