New game started:
ThundarLizard (Axis) vs ElvisJJonesRambo (Allies).

Only play 1-game limited time, maybe a second. Sanity check.

ELO game has ended. pjg100 (Allies) v. Jackmck (Axis), pjg100 won. Hard fought game. Axis started strong in Poland and China, but bogged down in France and made little headway in China past Nanning, Changsha and Chengchow. Allies slapped the IT fleet around in the Adriatic but were slapped back, there were ships littering the seafloor between Trieste and Dubrovnik. Axis resigned August 30, 1940, with Paris still (barely) standing.

Land, if you could port over my stat from the SC-WiE tournament, I would appreciate it, thanks.

I would be up for another game, if someone is interested.

I've talked to my military high command, no more playing 6+ games at once. My limit is 2, and only 2. No more temptation to play so many. Also, I like to stagger my "start times", so I don't use the same strategy in both games, or get confused. Remembering ship movements, and and WTF is going on, critical in competitive games. Waiting forever for a turn, drives me nuts too.

Didn't take long to get a game.

JM74 and Elvis, have started a mirrored set. Went against my "no mirrored rule" and "don't start games at the same time rule", but since I'm on different sides, won't get confused on strategy, if I even have one.

This is better than a heroin addiction. Thanks

New game started:
Taifun (Axis) vs Marcinos1985 (Allies). Standard house rules plus Denmark issue. The board seems huge but very crowded! I think this will be a very complicated game playing against such an experienced player!

Allies sued for peace in May 1942. Grats to Axis commander, those WiE guys are strong.

Many thanks Marcin for this interesting game . Learner a lot and made a few serious mistakes.

Seeking a veteran player, I am now available for a new game as Axis...

The stronger WiE guys are strong, but those of us who die on our backsides in the WiE tournament would fare similarly here

Just a note about this for ranking purposes:
quote:

ORIGINAL: ElvisJJonesRambo
ElvisJJonesRambo resigns games to kidegan, Marcinos1985, taffjones, & Thunderlizard11.

I am provisionally treating these games as 'match abandoned', which means they don't get entered in the tournament. If any of the games were still at an early stage or where Elvis had an advantage then I would prefer they stayed as 'match abandoned'. But if any of the other players wants to claim the wins for tournament purposes then please drop me a message and I shall update the rankings.

Wow, my record is awful. Glad I took a break, quit playing so many games. Doing alot better with moderation. Wrapping up 1 game up, my mirrored set going well. So I started the 4th. Need my focus.

Binge watched Band of Brothers over the weekend. All 10 episodes, been awhile since I'm watched Winters, Spears, Nix, Wild Bill, Babe, Malarky, Shifty, Bull, Webster, Sobel, etc. Time to watch episode 5 of 6, The Undoing on HBO.

What other stats do you have, like balance of Axis/Allies wins? (Probably need to consider skill level of players). My ranking sucks. Got my ass kicked by Cpuncher many times, also the other top players. I can only go up, from here. Need a big win.

So of the first 25 tournament games, 10 were won by Axis and 15 by Allies. I wouldn't read too much into that at the moment. If we get to 50 and it's 30-20 to the Allies then I might start to think the Allies have an advantage.

Game between Taifun (axis) and calcwerc (allies) concluded. Taifun wins.
Calcwerc surrendered september 42 with the loss of Moscow, Leningrad, Stalingrad and Calcutta. A desperate invasion in France 42 to help the russians was too badly played out to make any impact. I think Taifun is gonna win a lot of games with his determination and no-nonsense approach. He did a few moves which I normally would think of as suboptimal (giving up Northern-Africa, reinforcing Ethiopia, not protecting Italian fleet in summer 40), and still I stood no chance. To my defence I tried out new strategy in Russia and it didnt work out at all.

Many thanks calcwerc for this game and for your fast turns. You played a very good naval game and even though I had level 4 subs I could not seriously damage your convoy lanes. I am ready to start a new game for the return match, now me as Allies (a first for me...)
I invite all to follow this ended game in our AAR:

Well, the allies have a lot of ships, and i put them all in the Atlantic as I had to stop Germany somehow. I think I might have had a chance with a deeper defence in Russia, but it gets very difficult for the Russian player when Japan attacks as well... Probably also a big mistake with commiting allies to winter war, as you were very good at keeping Russian war readiness down (not invading Denmark, Netherlands, Greece and Yugoslavia just before Barbarossa). Have no high hopes for beating you now either, but good game, hopefully this one can be a bit more challenging
