I finished playing Japan vs AI hard campaign. I would like to try again with an improved AI/script.
It looks like there is an abundance of choices but I'm only looking for a tougher game not a mod the simply gives the allied opponent magical abilities
Any suggestions?

When Andy Mac updated official scenarios he changed the AI script. With his latest upgrades he provided only 1 updated script with the recommendation that all the other scripts had to be deleted. If you have played an Andy Mac updated scenario and followed his advice on the deletions, then that is it, you've played the latest. For no one, and I mean absolutely no one, has ever bothered to produce a scripts for their own mods.

Alfred: your data is a bit dated. I've been updating the T3 Ironman AI for my mod now for a couple of years. I hope to be done by years end (just finishing up the NA defense updates/additions.

But it will only work for the T3 version of Ironman (Allied). The T2/T1 won't be able to support the updated tempo established in the new AI ....

We need more information to give you a good answer. What Scenario did you play, and what was the date of the AI script? If it was Scen 1 with the original AI, than a Scen 1 game with the new AI would be much better. Also, how did you play the game? PDU off is much more difficult than PDU on, for example. And speaking of "magical abilities", did you play with a self-imposed house rule that only allows Naval Air units to be supported by Naval BFs (and the same with Army units), and to never be based together? Also no ASW training/missions for the Army guys. Because believe me, that restriction alone will give you all sorts of historically realistic headaches.

If you don't like self-imposed limits, than the updated T1 Ironman will give you a workout. You could even mod it so the Dorniers only carry bombs (making it a bit more realistic, although less painful for you)

Your mod is private. It isn't publicly available. It therefore doesn't invalidate my statement.

I know you have been playing with the scripts. Just as there well may be other people developing their own private mods and scripts but who don't post on the forum and therefore don't publicise their work, it doesn't answer the OP who seeks access to a new script.

Even the DaBabes team eventually stopped their work on developing their own scripts.

The only updated scripts which are publicly available are those done by Andy Mac. As per my earlier post.

I hope to send my updates to Andy (still only for T3 Ironman Allied) before end of year and then after his review hopefully they would get published. Not sure if I would take on T2 after that, but maybe.
