Hello. I'm thinking of buying Gary Grigsby's WWII games and this question came to mind.

Are War in the East and War in the West compatible? I mean, if one were to run an instance of each, is there any connection between the two games whatsoever? Thanks.

simple answer is no

War in the West has a limited modelling of the Soviet-German war.

War in the East 2 has a more detailed modelling of the war between the Allies and the Axis but its still abstract.

When WiTE2 is released it might be possible to construct a grand 1943 campaign but it would be a lot of work not just to effectively load the WiTW OOB into WiTE2 but to get around problems of how to fit an essentially 3 sided war into a game stuctured around 2 sides.

Let's hope that the next Grigsby's game after WITE 2 will be WAR IN EUROPE, 1939-1945!
