My newest beta...Indian paratroopers must liberate a town from insurgents and rescue hostages. As you might expect, a lot of the action depends on the cargo and ground combat aspects of the game.

As always, feedback is welcome. Please let me know what you think, what works, what could work better, what could be improved, how I can make this a more interesting and challenging scenario, etc.

Thanks.

Hi,

A major victory for India with 155 points after 4 x Hind and 2 x Tejas sorties were enough to comprehensively wax the insurgents. A small force that had been deployed nearby swept then through Mon to conduct a mopping up operation.

Indian losses were restricted to just 1 x Heron UAV and 2 x infantry section.

The hostages and the remains of the deployed force were picked up by Dhruv helicopters and returned to Jorhat airport but the return of the hostages didn't seem to trigger the 'Hostages safe' event.

Maybe a word missing at the end of this sentence in the Indian briefing 'B. OPERATIONAL RESTRICTIONS: as is often the case, the insurgents are .'

To make this scenario more challenging the Indian orbat could be reduced, the SAMs could be upgraded and some of the insurgents could patrol Mon as the static units were easy targets.

Thanks for the scenario.

Thanks, Lionheart, for some excellent suggestions. I'll incorporate some of those ideas in the next version. Yes, because the hostages are not only "ground facilities" but also "cargo," it creates some odd effects that make the Event not fire. I'll keep working on it, but I think we'll have to settle for the hostages not being killed after a certain time period (which I may move up because it does not seem to be triggering early enough). Thanks again.

Just uploaded version 2. Tweaked it a bit, maybe made it a little harder, and added a couple of small surprises.

Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

Hi,

A more comprehensive 300 point Triumph was achieved this time.

4 x Hind sorties again decimated the insurgents and this was followed up with Dhruv helicopters deploying a coup de main party of pathfinders to make preparations for the paradrop. Before returning to Jorhat one of the Dhruv helicopters extracted the 'hapless individuals'. Indian paratroopers jumped from 3 x Hercules and destroyed the remaining insurgents very quickly. All objectives achieved within 4h 30mins.

No SAMS were fired by the insurgents, only AAA and mortar rounds.

Indian losses - 3 x infantry section (plus one Dhruv helicopter damaged).

Thank you.

Anyone have any additional thoughts on this one? Or is it ready for the Community Scenario Pack?

Thanks in advance.
