You are right absolutely. One game not enough to go on for sure.

And France

As can be seen France is a tempting target. Even 8 corps could do something here.

Seems the Axis do not want to fight for Spain. Americans land in an empty port in south Portugal.

At sea not the much anticipated turnaround is yet to be seen. Lose 10-15 mm and 1-3 escorts per turn for the loss of 3-5 sub factors.

In the east the Soviet buildup is not very subtle. Hmm I wonder where they will strike .

Operation Liberate Ukraine. Looks hopeful with very little German reserves (but there are some turns to go yet). Combined with a landing in France I hope to make this a bit of a nuisance. We shall see

The reconquest of Spain goes on as the Axis are abandoning it.

April 16 1943

With a bit of luck I get a cold turn in the area where I was going to launch my summer offensive. Stalin orders Zhukov to order the T-34s to move forward. 2 inf corps shattered and 1 badly hurt and 4 corps almost surrounded. I could have cut the supply to the Kerch port but didnt bad mistake.

A bit scared of the Axis response but I hope for rain or snow next turn.

In Spain the offensive continues. i dont think I will even bother with Gibraltar it will require so much resources and time to take it back.

Looking at the forces German army strength looks low and they will have to fight tooth and nail to withstand the Soviets.
Both on land and air the allies are quite a bit stronger.

Looking at France it is mostly defended by Italians and axis minors. I am still hesitating a bit thinking maybe I should focus Spain and build up some more. On the other hand the clock is ticking. Got 2,5 summers to try and win this

In Russia the rain came so I could consolidate the pocket. There are some German mech units maybe they can relieve the pocket once but I think I have enough to seal it again if that happens.

Got cold weather in the north now forgot screenshot but strated a small offensive there as well. Shattered another inf corps so 3 in 2 turns. I know when you can kill German units like this that is not a good sign for the bad guys.

Overview of the east front.

I invaded Konigsberg since the whole baltic was empty of garrisons.

I did some attacking shattering 2 corps but I lsot one mech and 1 inf corps in counterattacks.

May 21 1943

Offensive in the south continues. My units are getting a bit extended and worn out but so are the Germans.

This turn 4 German corps shattered. I overran 1 ground attack and I attacked 3 of 4 spotted mobile units (new term for mech and arm corps, maybe better than mech units but cavalry is pretty mobile too so not perfect ) to keep down their counterattack abilities. I attack even on 1:1 odds. I am only one turn away from taking out the Rumanians but of course my path to Bucharest will be blocked. 5 units in crimea will slowly melt away thats the plan at least.

There are potentially 2 unhurt mobile units that can be used for counterattacks so this might hurt a bit.

My airforce fare not well vs the Germans so many losses but I keep on flying I will spend this airforce and build it up for 44. But xp gain very slow still only at 38% think this is a bit harsh on the Soviets. I have been fairly active with the airforce since 1941.

On the central fron there are a lot of German inf and I lack the mech units to make much progress. I increase my Konigsberg beachhead it will draw some reserves from somewhere.

In Spain I approach the passes leading into France. Compared to my game with BattlevonWar these defenders dont look as scary. In the south I screen off some units. I think that German arm corps will leave think it could do something better somewhere else. I am suspecting some kind of invasion in my back but for the moment I think it cant do all that much damage I hope.

I have not invaded yet as I was lacking a lot of transports as some US troops moved across the Ocean I might go on June 5 but I am still not sure.

Also watch and see if it changes and if it actually corresponds to the number of ship bonuses you have deployed.

So far in my games it has not displayed a bonus number. In a test game it did start showing the bonus but got stuck on the same number regardless of the number of DD's deployed. After a few turns it disappeared for no more reason than it started appearing.

"Soldiers, sailors and airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force ... about to embark upon the Great Crusade"

One year early but otherwise an almost historical D-Day begins. Opposition when I look around looks fairly light. I have another wave ready to go if any ports would be abandoned.

I am not that happy with how I have played in the south. I have gotten greedy and overconfident. I forget the goal is to kill Germans more then seize land. So I am tossing mech corps to the left and right lost 3 now and a couple of more might go. On the other hand the Germans are running out of units so it is a race if I can make his position indefensible before I run out of offensive steam. Very exciting .

I think with the BoA finally seems to have turned a corner ( I still dont understand why, no circumstances have changed but then over 2 turns 23 sub factors including 2 subs sunk happened) I will dare to open the line to the USSR from the US so the Soviets can build up easier for 1944.

Southern front more both German and Soviet corps are shattered. The struggle is epic. Not much Germans left now but my mechunits look very vulnerable if some German reinforcements arrive this could get ugly. I have also built way too little infantry.
