Hi guys,

sorry for this OT, but this is a state of art work (6.5 years of building it). So much talent he put into this.

Fantastic work! I was ready to say "it'll never float" until I read the last paragraph and saw the picture there. Thanks for posting.

Lovely model, fantastic dedication to build it over that period of time.

I was pleased to be able to visit the Missouri when I visited Hawaii for my son's wedding. It was quite a buzz to stand where Macarthur presided over the surrender ceremony. When I visited they had a glassed-in desk and documents [replica, I guess] in the same spot where the documents were signed. It really helps to appreciate how large those turrets are when you get to stand under them.

I've never heard of Meccano before! It reminds me of erector sets when I was a kid.
The work on the BB is stunning!

Maybe, maybe not, but there was a guy who built a similar type model of the Yamato. Material was different, and needed quite a bit of ballast to float, but he had it in the water.

Read the rest of my post - the last picture shows the model in the water, guns firing.

Photoshop ? His text in page 9 hints at the fact he hasn’t tried, and the picture looks off somehow.

I interpreted it to mean that after the "not tried yet" post, he subsequently did and posted that picture. It is kind of ambiguous.
