OK, I don't quite understand what happens when you "Disband" damaged aircraft. If it's in RED, it's pretty clear; the program says pilots are saved but the planes WILL be destroyed. If there is sufficient supply in the base, however, the option is white, and SOME planes may be destroyed.

So, how many of those planes are destroyed?

I have observed a couple times that: 1. I disbanded a fragment of damaged planes, 2. Those planes never appear in the pool, but 3. They are not counted as losses either. They basically just disappear.

So, how many damaged planes end up back in the pool? Is there a formula? And to confirm, it's possible for the planes to disappear forever, but not count as a loss?

Hope this is clear, just wondering how it works, thanks!

Don't recall the exact formula, but the planes which are not ready have a chance to be lost when disbanding.

I don't think it has ever been shared ... likely a random element in any case.

1) Fly in an air unit using the same type and model of aircraft

2) Fly the good aircraft to another supplied base that is not railroad connected to the current base.

3) Disband the fragment that has the damaged aircraft into the unit not disbanding.

4) Disband the air unit that needs to be disbanded.

Step one and two can be done in either order. The damaged aircraft will be in the gaining air unit, when repaired if the unit goes over strength, the excess aircraft will be "reserve" aircraft. Those "reserve" aircraft can then be removed from the gaining air unit if desired. The pilots that stayed with the damaged aircraft, they are now pilots in the gaining air unit. If done that way, the only aircraft that may be lost would be newly damaged aircraft in the moving unit.

If you want to check on how many damaged aircraft go to the pool after repairs, write down how many damaged aircraft that there were then check the next days report on the aircraft that went into the reserve pool and how may still need to be repaired.

If you are going to lose the aircraft even if they are not damaged, this method will not save them.
