Hello - I am having a problem with the map index creator and/or importer. The original .png looks ok but the output after importing is strange, as if the whole map has been sheared and split in half over a diagonal. Can anyone suggest what might be the issue? Thanks!

This is what I end up with - it's meant to be England and the Low Countries, from what looks like a perfectly normal PNG... hopefully illustrates what I mean by sheared and split.

Yeah, that's because the imported map size is mismatched with the size you gave the scenario in the editor (which you are asked to do when you choose the New option).

I did wonder about that and thought I'd fixed it. I'll try again... :D

Does the importer work with portrait format maps? I have double-checked and my dimensions are correct... the only odd thing is that my map is a bit taller than it is wide...

I don't think so, and the examples given do include some with portrait images.

I would try experimenting with (a copy of) your image to see if you can get it right.

So here's one of the MapIndexes files I've had this problem with - does it import correctly for other people?

I did try and get same problem.
I think the problem is related to your map size 153x123, I got similar problems a while ago
looks like it doesnt like odd values

When you use map scanner try maybe to modify slightly your image (reduce or increase few pixels width/height) to finally get 152x122 on your map index files

then try import mapindex again on editor

Yes, this sorts it out. The documentation suggests that the editor will cope with odd map indexes if you set the size to be one larger or one smaller. But in fact it doesn't.
