I am getting back to work on the AI Opponent (AIO) - which I last looked at in 2013! To start, I am focusing on the Barbarossa scenario, for which I expect the AIO to permit the player to use any or all of the optional rules shown in this screenshot as ON. Diving right in, I have the program logic in place for the AIO to load a saved scrap list for each major power it controls. Essentially, I intend to have almost 100 saved scrap lists available for the AIO to use: a separate one for each major power for each scenario. Barbarossa requires only 2: one for the USSR and one for Germany. The Global War scenario will require 8 saved scrap lists. If anyone wants to provide their suggested scrap list for major powers in any and all scenarios, that assistance will be of great help. In the end, I’ll select just one for each major power for each scenario, but having several from which I can choose will make my task easier. In the same vein, I am looking for saved setups for each major power for each scenario. Here I expect to select anywhere from 3 to a dozen. The program will randomize which one it selects so it isn’t too predictable. Note that saved setups only place non-random units on the map. That means they include convoys, named naval units, HQs, forts, and saved oil points. There will be ‘scripts’ written for the placement of the other (randomly drawn) units. Peter and I have done quite a bit of work on writing those - they are ready for testing for most of the minor countries (e.g., Poland, Spain).
