as our long range nav search didn't pick up any possible carriers moving in yesterday we kept the bombers on Mili to strike any retreating ships still in range but the enemy didn't retreat so we had a field day at Maloelap again... this time the enemy tries to cover the invasion convoy though as we encounter Corsairs over the ships... totally outnumbered by the escorting Franks the Corsairs take a beating as all are shot down or sent home damaged... with all escorts in the first wave as usual I feared that the second wave would encounter later incoming Corsairs on LRCAP so that could become a bloody day for the second wave of bombers...
but for now we see our first wave screaming down on Allied shipping still at Maloelap and there are actually way way more ships than we thought and again the enemy shipping is hit hard... especially like to see hits on APA/LSD/AKA and all the other stuff desperately needed for invasions...

and here's the second forced shock attack of the US ARMY... not as many losses like during the first attack but the majority of the losses are KIA... look at the single disabled squad the defenders took from the shock attack and then compare it to the losses the game always causes within your own troops when YOU bombard... it was already clear yesterday that the Maloelap invasion will fail, all the enemy can do is move in a strongly covered convoy to pick up the GI's from the atoll again...

WTF? Sixth attack in that base hex, fourth ship out of the same convoy sunk... even moved in more aircraft, the sub is spotted like the sun high noon in summer... the convoy brought 11,000 tons of supply to Tarawa, the base will be supplied until early 45 at least...
