At RJ's suggestion, I put my Chinese Inf Squads in stockpile and left their unit reinforcements ON so they could receive Support Squads and other devices. They soon got enough support to start rapid recovery of disabled Inf Squads which made up for the stockpiling, and the bonus was a rapid increase in experience and morale. I guess having a hot meal, an occasional shower and Chinese laundry service makes a difference!

But because China was getting lots of supply they stripped the pools of Support Squads and I had to turn off reinforcements for most Chinese units. A few with the best leaders and experience got theirs turned on when other devices were available in the pool.

The AAR that had Dewey make it all the way to Pearl Harbor (apbarog?) showed Dewey detected twice, but low DL that probably did not reveal the type of ship. All the Allied player had to do was move a couple of hexes northward when near Iwo Jima and southward again a later. To Midway first and then to PH. Dewey had a small xAK with her to refuel from.

I have done a likewise, but turned off replacements recently as I didn't want support squads going to the Dutch in Java. Support squads are very precious.

Looks like Changsha really is the objective of his advance. I think you’re spot on regarding the arrival of IJA tanks there.

Less impact than you would think. It is just nice to milk free VP no matter how small.

I have ships headed towards Mombasa, Port Stanley, Canada, and United Kingdom. Kind of intrigued to examine the possibilities here. I am thinking of sending some of my AR to Mombasa and perhaps Port Stanley if they are needed there.

Pearl Harbor light industry is humming.

I kept HI running for as long as possible in Australia, but had to cave in and turn it off. Perth got shut down today.

On the map, I have started a string of resupply efforts aimed at Luzon...dispatching a cargo ship a day, along with two sub transports.

Trying to figure out how to get supply into Singers. Drawing a blank.

Auckland got two American Base Groups and one HQa today.

7 American Base Forces arriving in Cape Town over the next 3 days.

Status: offline 		Subs to Singers. Then either send them on patrol or if they can, pull parts of units out?

No need for ARs off the map except to keep them safe. Any heavily damaged ships that arrive can take care of system damage and minor flooding issues, then relocate them off the map to a shipyard.

Just build up the off map ports but Mombassa does not get a lot of supply to haul out and only a few ground units show up there later. See when they do show up and have transports waiting for them.

The East Coast is quicker to Panama and Cape Town than Canada and the UK.

Mombasa gets a small daily amount of supply and fuel. Eventually it builds up enough that you can use it to expand the port so that you can load arriving units more quickly. There will also be enough supply accumulated to accompany the units (East African, West African and South African Bdes, IIRC).

So, I will likely build up Mombasa a bit.

Fuel to Karachi from Abadan.

Fuel from Bombay to Mombasa.

Fuel from Mombasa to Australia.

We will see how thing work out. I want to use every off map base.

Status: offline 		That’s why I said earlier it required micro-management. You have to give orders manually, setting the ships on « do not unload », and check each base daily.
That’s where giving names to your TFs is useful.

My use of the word « waypoint » was a bit unhappy, it’s not as a game term but as a general term. Sorry about that.

Status: offline 		"Waypoint" is a game term, it is used for the routing of the convoys. You can set 1, 2, or 3 of them with the various refueling options.

Status: offline 		What I mean (because English is only my third language and I’ve had a tiring week), is that you load ships in Eastern USA (or in Capetown, for the supply moved there by AP/AK that you don’t want to risk on map), set to « do not unload », move to Mombasa, and once there you set the next destination (and home port). You just pass through Mombasa, no loading or unloading there.

Are you having subs lay mines at Bundaberg? Just don't do it on the same turn as any of your surface fleets show up there so they don't hit your own mines.

I got good mine hits at one of the bases there, can't recall which one now, but he has sweepers all around.

IJ got a good sub attack intel report on a large Cruiser SAG near Noumea.

Could it be a mini-KB escorting an invasion force to Java?

Edit: My bad, I forgot that he already has most of Java. So yes, Perth or nearby. Is there a way that you can check to see where it was previously and track it? Maybe even check which units may be in the convoy? Also the ships? That is work but if you want to plan a surprise party for them . . .

Yes, I didn't spot anything...minor volume of radio four days back...but I attribute that to the CVE I spotted near Singers at the same time and my P40s failed to hit.

CMF Militia 41 to CMF Infantry. Build rates are very low for both & both are currently being produced so technically the militia isn't obsolete.

It is a 15 soft attack to 18 soft attack boost. The next in line, AMF 42 Inf gives piats I guess (a 15 hard attack boost).

Status: offline 		I suspect Japan might be having a tough time getting supplies forward. Sian is a size 1 airbase, with a shocking amount of troops.

I am pulling the Indian Mountain guns off the front lines and will be flying them down to the Changsha pocket area, plus the Chinese Antitank unit in the area here. I am also pulling the 66th Corp with US TOE off the mountain hex and will move them back to Chungking and eventually to the western mountain defensive line. Might pull back the 8th Route Army too.

I can't seem to get any Chinese unit to upgrade to the 105mm howitzer anywhere, no matter how few guns need replacing. Frustrating. Yet, I can get the 43rd Cavalry to show the =+ symbol.

Overall, I am very pleased with China, and need to rotate my defense now and also counter the IJA tanks that are about to reappear. I am hoping he hasn't upgraded a lot of them yet.

I still need to buy time for the two Commonwealth armor units to get into position and upgrade to Stuarts...

Status: offline 		The best equipped squads are the AIF ones. I just set the unit to upgrade and when the TOE changed it did. Maybe check the TOE date in the "Show Soft" LCU list. You might have to micromanage the stockpiling of squads and which units get them.

Units tend to upgrade rather quickly when in a base with some supply. Dunno if rest mode helps (it is mandatory for TOE upgrade but not for squads/devices). Not that quickly when in the field, but they still do upgrade AFAIR. At this junction your main number to track is the # of new squads in the pool - they determine what size of the unit you can upgrade, so juggle your toggles wisely

I was going to say « don’t rush to upgrade the militias », but this is well explained. You don’t get that many UK, Indian or ANZAC infantry squad, you have to use all the tricks to maximize your use.
In other words : make sure you have no leftover pool of obsolete squads.

For your Chinese 105mm, I’m not sure it’s the same device. Check this in the editor, but in stock they have their own pools.
