It's March 5th, 1943. The situation in China is as such: Chunking has 9k AV, has been under siege for 2 months. It holds. Along the Kunming/Paoshan axis, I have 3.7k AV. That's all "China" av, for what it's worth.

Japan @ Chungking, has:

(9) Inf Divisions, (1) Armor Division, (1) Army Reg,(28) mixed arty units, (2) Army HQ, (1) AA Regt.

I've lost (50) DD's, (16) CL's, (4) CA's, (6) BB's, (4) CVE's, (1) CVL.

He's down a CVE, (3) of his (18) CA's, (5) confirmed CL's, (20) DD's.

I'm in force at the Gilbert Islands. Have been weakly assaulting Attu Island in the NP. Ready to go after Darwin in Oz. No idea what to do in India/Burma. Nothing going on around Nomuea. Pics to follow.

The game with ChickenBoy has been very pleasant. In fact, my work took me his town, and we got to meet and have dinner. Very nice guy!

Push/Pull supplies through to China. Chungking will fall unless you can relieve it. Can you send supplies there by 4E bombers without losing too much?

With his KB intact, you can't force too much. When you see the KB in force, move elsewhere around the perimeter. Have multiple options available with units prepped for them.

If you hold Western Australia, can you build up airbases so you can move 4E in and out to bomb the oil? Don't bother with refineries, just the oil. Any HI/LI is also good.

Train lots of pilots if you have not done so. As Allies, you don't need the experts in Tracom but in training squadrons raising the overall average so the pilots who need training will train faster.

If you have not done so, upgrade all units to the new squads. Stockpile squads if you have to. China should have enough squads you just have to get a place to upgrade them if you have not done so.

Thanks, I can't do much in the DEI yet, I've got Exmouth in NW Oz, took Port Hedland but it's under constant bombardment. I have many units moving up the dirt part to Perth. Pics to come...later. Been training piltos like mad, all front line squads are 75exp+.

The Aleuts: Attu has been under siege for about 4 months. The escalation started from one measly SNFL to one US Rgt, to about 2 divs worth of steady reinforcement. I'm fine with it - fine with using this as a place to draw him forward, as I - now - have more bases in the area.

The Gilberts are well built and ready as the springboard... I failed to invade Tarawa 1 month ago, lost 1/2 a div.

IN Oz, except for what is "on" Daly Waters and the road south... the units are armor that have silently penetrated deep.

If you don't need any of those bases, then they are a "live fire practice range!"

In reality, even the Japanese gardens were napalmed. Before the official surrender, some small garrisons hoisted white flags.

In the Gilberts, I've just reached air superiority over the islands, and can really begin destroying everything. Even da cock-a-roaches.

The middle looks open - check Iwo Jima and vicinity for units if you have tracker running. Get those areas before those reinforcements arrive. Also, consider heading for the Kuriles except Para which will trigger reinforcements.

If you can grab Port Blair then on to Sumatra. If nothing else, Port Blair threatens shipments to Burma. If you invade Burma, see what he has at Pegu . . .

Recon everywhere, even with non-recon aircraft. Let the red warning lights go all over the board. Recon at night as well.

I ran recon all over OZ and Burma - thanks - I was trying to keep a lot of my bombers safe, but the recon is grand.

In the Aleuts - I sent a massive fighter sweep of 10 Groups (P40K, F4F, P38... 200-300 ac) against 60 A6M5, and Tojo's... got slaughtered. This has been consistent. Next turn I'll have a SCTF tangle with anything he's got there and then bombard.

In the Gilberts - I build up the islands prepping for Tarawa and Makin.

In Oz, he's now aware of my deep penetration (Beavis and Butthead: huh, uh, huhuhuhhu) and have scrambled bombers. I'll be under withering aerial assault for 2 turns - then I'll have air cover.

Triggering the reinforcement from Paramushiro Jima isn't all bad for the Allies. The Depot divisions show up mostly disabled and will suck-up a ton of supply, and won't have much combat value for months. This may have more impact later in the game though.

I don't plan on pushing to Para just yet. He's had plenty of time to build, and he's built up a few bases pretty well.

Today, I ran a massive sweep/bombing mission in the Aleuts. His CAP tore through my sweeps... but for the first time all game, my sweeps all went in "first", then my escorted bombers.

Tomorrow will see another maximum effort.

Well, the second round of attacks on Attu didn't work, only 2 squads of bombers flew, into the face of about 40 Tojos/A6M5's. Luckily, as the enemy was at 25k and I was bombing at 8k, I escaped with only damage. Next turn, I will continue to try and throw everything at Attu again. It'll be 3 days of flights from his crews at a heavily damaged airfield. They should be fatigued, I hope to slaughter them.

I also created 12 PT's and sent 3 tf's of 4 each to interdict Attu.

In Oz, here are my forward unit's large force disposition. All the other units around are mostly small arm units, or incoming support units. I also have a healthy reserve of inf units to push forward.

Up near Darwin, you'll note a jap force moving south. That's 2/3'rds of an IJ inf div, my armour units can't compete with that yet... but they can move around to the flanks and try and get behind...

IJA units at Fenton (base 2 hexes S of Darwin) moved south a hex where I have an 88AV Armor unit. I've moved all my available B17's and B24's to in-range bases (Alice Springs, Cloncurry, Normanton) and have given the order to pound the ground from 8k feet.
