So excited to play the new War in the East!

Any chance there will be my favorite scenario - Case Blue? Or would that have to wait for a future DLC?

All the initial scenarios and campaigns are listed on the product page, and Case Blue isn't among them. I wonder if it's possible to create your own with the editor?

So the Case Blue Scenario isn't included - that's also quite disappointing for me, because it is my favourite, too. Hope for further scenarios in future as for WitE 1.

yes, the editor allows you to do far more than you can with WiTE1 in terms of both adapting scenarios and creating new ones.

But even putting together a limited scenario takes a fair bit of work.

My personal fantasy project is to try and meld one of the WiTW start dates to create a complete war in Europe scenario.

Given your comment with regards to creating a "fantasy project", is it possible to extend the map with the editor?

In theory the map runs from the Atlantic to Central Asia and from the Arctic to North Africa.

So one part in preparing a scenario is to set the playable area. The rest (in the campaigns) goes into the Theatre box system but you can use events to make regions playable (or even remove them from play). This process of removing/adding map sectors is how the late war is handled both the Soviet gains in the Balkans and the Western Allies crossing the Rhine.

If you then add in the ability to freeze units for a set number of turns, it is a flexible system.

Just, it is complex to use.

But one idea would be see if you could meld the WiTW 1945 campaign (that starts in early December 1944) with Vistula-Berlin (that starts in Jan 45). In effect, trying to avoid the really challenging work that goes with setting up a scenario from first principles. No idea how feasible this is, but I think all the building blocks are there - as maybe clear I've had no real involvement with the editor or the scenario creation during the testing process.

No need for that, all Europe already included.

Did I not read on this forum somewhere that War in Europe was 2by3 final project for WITE & WITW?

I have seen this too.

The scenario list seems a bit disappointing. Arguably Germany still had a chance in the summer campaign of 1942, but that isn't included? Disappointing. I hope the price of the game reflects the lack of campaigns....ought to be a July '43 and June'44 campaign as well.

Frankly, the existing scenarios and campaigns are a massive amount of content and include an incredible level of historical detail, all of which require a lot of research and testing. I'm not sure that's obvious from this side of the curtain, but there is certainly no lack of content. I'm sorry you had your heart set on Case Blue, but the 1941 campaign allows the full scope and the Stalingrad campaign still allows for a lot of what-if options on post-42 strategy for each side.

We are also planning additional campaigns and scenarios for expansions as with War in the East, so we'll certainly consider Case Blue for one of those.
