What is the effect of task force movement on scout plane launch and search results? If their base naval unit is traveling at cruise speed will this negatively effect the ability of scout units to launch and successfully search?
Should scouting task forces be either moving at low speed or be stopped in place for the best results?

Float planes are catapult launched so TF speed should not affect scouting results even if ultra realistic modelling was in place. Retrieval of the plane demands ship to slow down or stop in reality though, unless it is a CV based unit. In WITP:AE neither speed of TF, nor plane operational losses are affected by TF movement as far as I know. I guess it is assumed that TF makes a brief stop when necessary to retrieve a plane

Main factor of scout success in WITP:AE is weather - floats will not launch when waves are significant, that is thunderstorms in the hex.

A cruiser or BB makes a hard 90 degree turn, to create a flat knuckle, for a landing spot to retrieve an aircraft, hoists it back aboard, and then increases speed to get back on station.

Relying to float planes for search/ASW can be fruitless with WitP-AE weather model. They don't fly in rough weather, which is unfortunately very common (probably way too common compared to real history).
