Will this game have an in depth tutorial? The first really didnt which I found surprising given the complexity.

there is a detailed walk through in the manual of one of the smaller scenarios

plus a couple of the scenarios are really designed as introductory so you can try out the game systems in a very limited context

yes, it tells you step by step how to use the AI-assist for that scenario and why you are advised to make particular choices
