I have soome links to some articles/pdf books that the members here may find interesting, but Ikeep getting a message "You are not allowed to post links, emails or phone numbers for 7 days from the date of your tenth post."

Can I send them to someone else to post?

Cheers

Hi there Trevor,

I'd be glad to help. I have been maintaining and unofficial CMANO/Command Dropbox library for several years. I've attached a summary of what is out there and if you use Dropbox and PM me with your email address I'll be happy to add you to the access list. I'd also be pleased to look at the articles / documents you mention to consider including them.

Thanks!

-Wayne Stiles

Sorry I don't live up to your commenting expectations "thewood1". I mean, my wife and I only work full time, and we have a kid, and we have other family responsibilities, so yeah, I guess I should have all kinds of time on my hands. I'll try to do better in the future.

It was a complement. You don't find many people who have been on line that long without posting much. Most forums I frequent its a celebrated trait. But take it how you like. With that level of sensitivity, maybe you are doing the right thing.

Let's agree to let it go and call it a miscommunication. I became irritated because I've always considered the term "lurker" disparaging - like a free loader.

I sympathize, man. My wife and I both work full time and have an 11 month old. It’s hard enough to find an hour here and there to play a game. I look around on reddit or steam and I see people with 4000 hours in a game and I just wonder what their lives are like.

I have been through the raising children phase of my life. All kids in their 20's. One still lives at home and does all of my chores. My biggest time commitment, beyond work, is keeping my wife occupied and my dog happy. At my company, I am senior enough and have enough people under me now that I can listen in on meetings with a game of CMO running on another PC. Until the pandemic, I travelled a lot and that leaves me with time on planes, in airports, and in hotels to play or read.

I have spent almost 40 years building and running factories around the world. I still mentally work hard and long hours, but get to have very flexible hours and can easily multi-task. So I have been there with the young kids thing. But if you do it right, it gets easier.
