T41 11/9/41 The Roslavl pocket is slightly different. His northern pincer has been pushed north a few hexes. This should be a fight during his Operation Typhoon.

T41 11/9/41 Here is the Kharkov front showing no change except 2 of the 3 hexes of the city have been retaken. I am sure the Germans will again try to subdue Kharkov.

T43 11/16/41 The Germans are moving west. They do not want to engage in winter warfare. Soviet scouts are searching for them as they retreat.

Leningrad is unchanged however.

T46 November 26th 1941. Here is the main front just before the start of the Soviet 41 winter offensive.
The Axis has formed a line which I will try to destroy.

T46 11/26/41 Here is a closer view in front of Moscow which is closer to Smolensk now. One thing that is new, notice the Soviet aircraft in the shot. I have brought them all forward all along the fronts to join in the offensive.

T47 11/30/41 Here is the front near Smolensk. The initial attacks were only partially effective. One turn of the winter offensive used, 29 more to go.

T47 11/30/41 Just to the north Zap Dvina shows additional progress. However, on the Leningrad front all attacks failed to gain any terrain. Other fronts have only slight progress so far.

T48 12/3/41 This shows the Smolensk front on the second turn of the offensive. Just north of Smolensk is a large open space with no Axis defenders. The Axis front is melting away far faster than anticipated in some sections of the front.

T52 12/17/41 Here is the big view in the North and Center fronts.
\
As it turns out the Axis does not counter attack very much and simply pulls back parts of the front when gaps appear. Therefore, no traps yet. That may come later in the summer of 42.

T52 12/17/41 Here is Leningrad. It is WWI trench warfare on all fronts. Gradually some ground is being retaken on the western edge and eastern edges of this screen shot.

T52 12/17/41 Here is the Bryansk front with more of the same. The Axis artillery is well placed and takes a heavy toll of the attackers. I have had to reduce attacks and concentrate mostly on locating where his artillery is and blast away with my own where it is weakest.

T56 12/31/41 The same is true with the Smolensk front. Note Smolensk is now east of the new front being established by the Germans.

T56 12/31/41 The northern and southern fronts are little changed. However, the Crimea is setting up as an all out brawl for both sides that should last a long time. The Russians can't withdraw except a few units at a time by sea. That would be a disaster so it is victory or death for Ivan here.

T60 1/14/41 Here is the large view of the center. The Leningrad and southern fronts are nearly unchanged except for casualty reports. However, inside the circle the German line is getting very thin. The German probably is forming another line that is out of recon but it will be thinner than before.
