Hi,

Is there a way to find out how much energy a spaceport gets from its energy converters (taking into account its actual distance from the sun)?

I have the same question.

Though there is a way to find out if they are covering static costs on a case by case basis and that is to watch fuel levels in the base and see if they drop over time.

However that is not the same as a reliable prediction which the gameplay leads you to seek.

This is an example of something which would be nice to see in DW2.

Another example would be distance between objects, unless there is a hotkey combo I missed? I could not see one in the manual.

I added this feature in the Bacon Mod.
Select an object and mark it using the fighter-target command (alt-4). Then select another object and press control-D. The distance will appear either in a popup box or in a scrolling message in the message area if teh game is not paused.

The amount of energy you get from your Energy Collectors is shown on the base details screen.
Top-right corner, under "Energy", it's the first item "Energy Collection".
Is this what you're looking for?

Commendable initiative and ingenuity as this information is useful, I hope Code Force are inspired to do something similar in DW2.

e.g. something like - select an object and press alt while mousing over another object to give distance between objects along with the information for the moused object at the bottom of the screen, where planet resources are shown when mousing over a planet.

That number is the max potential energy if the station was right at the star. The energy gain drops with distance so you never know exactly how much energy you will have at a given distance. I usually make sure the number if 33=40% above my energy usage.
