On the air unit information screen it will sometimes have in lavender the message "Will Return (Date) as (Description)

What is this mean? Is this if plane is withdrawn?

That is when the unit is scheduled to return. If you look for it in your reinforcement queue, you probably won't find it unless it has already been disbanded. Write down the information, then after disbanding the unit, then look for it in the reinforcement queue.

To RhinoDad,
Sometimes air units are converted from day fighters to night fighters, or to different types. Most often an Allied Air Unit is withdrawn out of the Pacific Theater and may return to the Pacific after service in the ETO or MTO for instance. These are done normally to simulate an historical series of events related to that unit.

A lot of Allied bomber squadrons are withdrawn out of theater in ‘42, and will come back with B-29’s, or after V-E Day. A lot of PBY squadrons are also withdrawn to come back with Bombers instead of Patrols. Permanently Restricted sometimes are withdrawn, to come back unrestricted, already assigned to other commands.

There are lots of different cases, it pays to check in the Editor to see the details (and upgrade paths) of the returning units.

+1

In the editor the group and the group it returns as are usually together.

When you withdraw the group it’s return should show up in the reinforcement
Schedule immediately on the next turn.

If I remember correctly returning groups are marked with asterisk so you will be able to find
them easily.
