A "lost mansion" slowly decaying in Wales.

Quick: which series of movies could be rebooted here - saving the place in the process?

Edit: I'm looking around this site, BTW, and it is genuinely eerie...

You could fit my entire house into the first two floors of the main stairway area.

I was thinking about Resident Evil, but The Shining is a good call too.

That would work. But only if Milla Jovovich was in it.

If I only had the money . . .

Think of a hotel with war game tournaments during the off season . . .

And paintball ones in the "on" Rainbow Six live or such.

I really, really liked the first movie. It was like a 90 minutes intro which led into the first game. The second one had decent action but ridiculous plot holes. The next three had nothing to do with the games but were my kind of guilty pleasure; however... boy, the "Last Chapter" was truly awful

I'll watch "Monster Hunter" of course , if somehow it becomes available here in Italy (in streaming I guess).

Only in the gardens, never any paintballs in the house.

But I was thinking of tour groups which would use the hotel as a base to go visit the sights then come back and spend the night, eat breakfast, maybe even have a bag lunch available for those who like to amble in the forests . . .

My mind tells me ghosts do not exist but
my heart says they do.

So, I would not relish spending a night
all alone in that place.

It would mix well in movies featuring
a dystopian future in which most human life is
gone and nature is reasserting herself.

I have a fascination for opulent decadence.
Complex things slowly unraveling.

The sound of time passing in a forgotten place
and lost loves. They're both beautiful and sad,
celebrating the impermanence of human existence.

I played paintball a couple of times, decades ago, and it was outdoor. I know that there are paintball teams here in Italy who play in abandoned factories and such - sometimes getting arrested, sometimes not. I never heard, however, of the "never any paintballs in the house" rule. Is it because you have to clean up afterwards, it is more dangerous or what?

If you have the building repaired, modernized, and turned into a hotel with a conference center with small meeting rooms, do you really want paintballs flying around?

Abandoned buildings would be fine, but not something like that building restored to its former glory.

I see a very old building in the middle of nowhere. Even if it was refurbished into a hotel or a museum I would have no interest in going there.
