Hi everyone,

Some clarifications due to the issues that happened earlier today.

- The e-mails stating that WITE2 was released, sent out to customers with it on their wish list, were in error. It is however live for pre-orders and we will be manually re-sending those e-mails to clarify that.

- The check box in the store for the "boxed digital edition" is what you need to check to make sure you are ordering the full 500+ page printed hardcover manual. This should be an additional $20 + shipping.

- WITE2 will release on March 25th (downloads for all orders) and physical shipments will start shipping out on April 16th (when manuals arrive at our warehouse). Those who order the physical copies will be able to access their downloads on March 25th along with everyone else.

- The physical manual is a 520 page hardbound full color volume. The biggest printed manual we've ever done. All shipments at this point are from the UK and we recommend carefully reviewing the shipping options (typically Royal Mail or DPD) to determine which is best for your location. Royal Mail is a typical mail service, DPD is an air courier service and shipping times, customs/VAT costs and service to special addresses may vary by your location. However, the shipping cost is significant due to the sheer weight of the hardbound manual, which comes in at over 4.5 lbs / 2+ kg.

- The initial pre-order price was incorrectly missing the 10% discount. This has been corrected and all customers who ordered at the non-discounted price should see a refund for the difference over the couple of days. That process has started - our support team is handling it but it is a manual process.

- War in the East 2 is initially releasing only on Matrix and Slitherine. However, every customer who orders from us will also be able to retrieve a free Steam Key when it releases on Steam in the future to also add the game to their Steam catalogs. There is no set date for the Steam release at this time. I expect it will be at least six months after the release on our stores.

Regards,

- Erik

Thanks for clarifying! I've ordered (preordered) the boxed digital edition. Just didn't want to screw up.

Ordered. "It would be nice" if we could download the Manual! 500+ pages .... best to get started on that A.S.A.P. no?

All in good time, I'm not impatient. I have no "burning desire" to be on the Beta (but will "do my bit" if called!).

Maybe this is an FAQ I missed, but are there any plans to release WitE2 on Steam like WitE and WitW? If so, will it be a simultaneous release or Steam costumers will have to wait?

Thanks!

That is correct, it starts with the pre-orders and is also an "early order" discount for the first month after release.

Retroactively applying the 10% pre-order discount is a classy move. Thanks.

Just to be clear, and early download of the manual is not included in the pre-order correct?

Yesterday when I received no less than three emails telling me that WitE2 had been released I was delighted and immediately went to the Slitherine store and ordered it. To my disappointment I could not download the game. It took me some time to find this forum and then this thread.

While I accept that the emails issued in error, I am not happy.

The first reason is that despite that explanation, I rec'd another email this morning telling me that the game had been released. Obviously not much has been done to fix the problem.

Secondly,Slitherine has a strict policy that one an order is placed it cannot be reversed. That is its prerogative and I have no objection to it - I have purchased several games on that basis. But surely the customer can also insist that having paid for a product they are told is available it must be provided?

I understand that the game may not be ready for final release - the date of March 25th has been mentioned. Given that to all intents and purposes I and many other customers have been led to provide Slitherine with payment following the issue of false or misleading advertising, advertising that continues even after fault has been acknowledged, should Slitherine not make an effort to balance the books? Not by refunding the money - that would be a severe penalty, but by making some attempt to compensate for its errors.

The game is almost ready for release - why not allow those who have registered to download the current version? If there are any small changes before release date, an updated version can be made available.

That way those purchasers annoyed at being misled by the repeated advertising can be placated, and at no real cost to Slitherine. A win win solution.

Hi king 171717,

I just spoke with our support team. We don't actually have the tools on the back-end to upgrade an order to physical with our new store yet, so unfortunately while I'd like to help you we can't at present. We do plan to add a physical upgrade in the future, so please keep an eye on that as it will be the best way to address this for you.

Regards,

- Erik

No, you don't have to change a thing - the manual will arrive either way. For some locations, we're told Royal Mail may actually be best, but mainly we're just trying to give enough information that each customer can make their own informed decision.

I forgot to check the box for the digital boxed edition. I really want the manual. Is there any way to cancel my order and reorder with the boxed edition? Am hoping so since the game is not released yet.

I want the manual but I do not know what I have done in the pre-order. I clicked the cart, proceed and then I pay. I thought the manual, (hard copy) included. The followings are what I receive by email from The Slitherine Group. Does it mean the manual would be sent to me too? If no, please advise what should I do the transaction in order to get the hard copy of the manual.

Please do not reply to this e-mail, this address is not monitored.

Please advise whether the order of manual (hard copy) can be made separately? It is a simple thing to do. Upgrade is a big deal!

Please say I can download the soft copy of the manual otherwise I need to cancel the order. A game without a manual is not playable. Therefore, the game discs together with manual (hard copy) to be sent is reasonable assumed. I would ask the customer to check manual (hard copy) not wanted instead of the reverse. The administration impresses me.

Every copy of the game includes the manual. The digital download comes with an E-Book PDF version of the manual. The physical copy includes the full hardbound printed manual.

Twice I attempted to purchase WITE II with hardbound rules volume with 2 different Master Cards, and both times the transaction was not able to complete. Simply with a message to contact Blue Snap.

Submitted a support ticket to Slitherine.

Blue Snap website is definitely not designed for the end user. Basically spaghetti code, but was finally able to submit a ticket. Not fun.

Anyone else having problems?

Hi. I am in Australia. I have been trying unsuccessfully to purchase Wite2 hardcopy through Slitherine using royal mail. Twice now I get to the processing point and the sales gets to the processing stage and then freezes with a "java script return false" comment in the corner of the screen. Can you help?
