You're welcome to post any typos you find in the manual here. We're planning on having a living manual that is released with updates and Roger said he will likely make corrections in that version of the manual as changes are made. As for the printed manual, we'll have to live with some imperfection. Thanks.

Honestly, I wish I had made a note of all the imperfections. They are all minor (double negatives, the word "hex" left out in one sentence; nothing that causes the meaning to be lost; minor stuff, as I say). Tell you what, give me the rest of the manual, and I'll go through the entire thing for you!

I've just read chapter 16. Here are a couple of minor errors I noticed. Nice manual by the way.
16.3.1. MANUAL AND AUTOMATIC (AI ASSIST) CONTROL OF AOGS The detailed rules for 'allocation' air groups to AOGs
Should be 'allocating' or 'allocation of'.
16.3.3. DISBANDING AND CONvERTING AOGS Over the game a number of AOGs will arrive as reinforcements, be disbanded (or withdrawn) 'of' convert to a different type.
Should be 'or' convert
16.4.5. AIR GROUP UNIT WEAPON AND FUEL LOADOUTS
Loadouts spelled 'load outs' twice in this section. Also 'lower' should read 'lowers'
16.6. AIR BASES As the game progresses the players can create new airbases or 'to' expand the existing ones Each size of airbase
This bit looks wrong to me. Possibly should read As the game progresses the players can create new airbases or expand the existing ones. Each size of airbase
16.6.1. AIRBASE ON MAP DISPLAy Yellow – Fuel or ammo <= 70% of need but 'not' neither <=55
'not'
16.6.3. BUILDING AND ExPANDING AIRBASE UNITS select the 'air field' tab at the top of the screen (6.2.1)
'airfield'
16.6.5. AIRBASE SUPPLy PRIORITy Remember that unlike depots and HQ units, if an airbase is to #0 supply priority it will receive no supply allocation.
I am very sensitive to spelling mistakes, wrong characters, too many spaces ... I hope I will not be too annoying with it over time.
I had already mentioned in another thread the "Flieger Fuhrer". It's not directly a spelling error in the manual, but in the game (and therefore in the manual). For native English speakers, it probably doesn't make a difference, but Fliegerführer is one word, without spaces, and putting a space in there hurts your eyes badly . Maybe it's like writing "Eng Land" in English, or maybe "spellingmistakes", if you take an opposite example with too few spaces.
In the game, this is also displayed in large labels, so you can't look away.
"Once built, no unit is not needed to keep the level 4 fortification"
Personally, I would be willing to wait for my printed rules, until the 2nd edition, since I notice/suspect, there will be a very large amount of corrections early after the release.
On Guide #1 -- Introduction, Game Concepts and Getting Started, in box 7 is written "On starting the Game his is the first screen you will see:". I think it is supposed to be "On starting the Game this is the first screen you will see:"

Section 25.2.1., has a double period at the end of this sentence:
Note that rail hexes that are adjacent to enemy units are considered not to be functioning for the purposes of determining the rail network. These hexes may not be used for strategic rail movement but supply will enter those hexes by rail if appropriate. .
Space between letters in final word "Source."
"25.2.3. National Supply Sources (NSS) The establishment of a rail network and connection to the supply grid requires the tracing of a contiguous path of rail line hexes (and/or port to port connections over water) to a National Supply So urce."
Period missing between "freight" and "Exporting."
"25.4.4. Depot Priority and Rail Freight Allocation In each logistics phase, depots will seek to gain freight according to the set priority. A priority 4 depot will generally receive much more freight than lower priority depots, while priority 1 and 2 depots will tend to receive very small amounts of freight Exporting ports will generally be eligible to receive more freight than other depots."
In Section 25.6.2., there is a space in the word "export."
If you set a port depot to expor t, it will generally try to get more freight by rail so it can ship freight to other ports by sea.
In 25.6.3, the "1" following "railyard" seems an error.
"For example, an Axis level 2 port with a level 1 railyard 1 would have a capacity of 2x7.5 + 1x10 = 25k tons."
Section 30.9.3. The Air War
The word "real" was used instead of "rear."
"In the main, leave your longer ranged bombers as far back as possible (so if using AI-assist, link the air commands to real area HQs)."

Chapter 7 looks pretty clean to me. Just noticed these two.
7. MaP anD terrainFocus: This section provides more information on the types of terrain (physical and human) 'on' the game and how ownership is determined.
Should read 'in the game' or possibly 'on the map'.
7.3.4. air base unit CaPture Enemy 'Air Base' units in hexes that become pending friendly or were isolated and convert to friendly control are captured and become empty (no support units) air base units for the capturing side. When 'airbases' are captured
air base spelt with capitals and 'airbases' I assume should be two words?
While combat intensity sets the level of losses in each box, the required strength in each box is set by, and adjusted, by event. If the requirement is exceeded, it is possible that the player will trigger events granting them addition Administrative and Victory Points
"addition" should be "additional". Or " an addition of..."
thanks to everyone for the above, they have been incorporated into what will be the living manual as we go forward.
This will follow the WiTW model of being a text only PDF that adds significant patch related changes to the sections. It won't have any of the images of the release manual though.
23.5.3. Combat Intensity in Urban, Heavy Urban or Port Hexes Any combat that takes place in these hexes will see heavier losses for both sides. In particular defender losses will be higher and deliberate attacks will always be resolved at close range
Not sure if a typo but I assume it should be the attacker that suffers higher losses.
Page 489, in the "It's Not Over" row of the table, the Main Effects column is incomplete: "Finland ground requirements increase to 240, Air to 13. Will"
On page 453 in the section about the Turn Summary about the unit truck snapshot. It should say "These show how MANY trucks are in the units (...". There is a "many" missing before "trucks are in the units ..."
Pretty sure it doesnt cost one Admin point. Not sure if the manual is incorrect, or if this is a bug in the game. But the manual is incorrect in any case.
" 21.10.1. Disbanding Units
Disbanding requires and expends one Admin point (for this purpose merging a unit is treated as disbanding a unit and will also cost one Admin point)."

There are spelling mistakes in German terms. I currently only looked to the air unit names in the manual and I don't know, whether it is in the game also.

This isn't a typo in the manual, however the element "160mm Stielgranade AT Gun" should be spelled "160mm Stielgranate AT Gun", with a "t" instead of a "d".
Not a manual typo, a game typo probably not serious enough for a thread: in the hotkey menu, in the description "z - toggle unit counter info (move/defense/garrison values)", I think garrison values no longer exist?
4.8.6. Special Turn 1 rules More widely, the Germans cannot move units in (or into) Hungary and Rumania and the Soviet South Front will be fixed unless the Germans move South or East of Lvov (the exact trigger hex is 187,187). The map below shows the Soviet at-start deployment in this region and the critical hex.
I think it's supposed to read South and East, since German units start south of that line on the 17th Army sector, and easily go east of that line further north.
As I understand it 187/187 is the North West corner of the activation box.

Manual should have read "... if playing as the Axis". Disbands are free for the Soviets - see 38.1

thats an in-game screen so I can't correct in the manual, but you are perfectly right.
others - thanks for this, mostly incorporated into the living manual. Where it maybe a mispelling (eg around German names) I'm keeping to the in-game nomenclature for ease of reading across

there are 2 variants - if actually "SBAP" then correct is SBAP (Skorostnoy Bombardirovchnyy Aviatsionnyy Polk); but if it about Composite Bomber Aviation Regiment for such units abbreviation is "SAP" (Smeshannyy Aviatsionnyy Polk)
quote:
TAP (Transportnaya Aviahtsiya Polk) – Transport Aviation Regiment
correct is TAP (Transportnyy Aviatsionnyy Polk)
quote:
TBAP (Tyazhelobombardirovochnyy Aviapolk) – Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment
correct is TBAP (Tyazhyolobombardirovochnyy Aviatsionnyy Polk)
