I am just curious if German Tank destroyer air units has inclination to attack Soviet armored and mobile units in Interdiction attacks or ground attacks and in ground support attacks.

Specially interdiction attacks could be very interesting in Key sectors.

its a bit like the Soviet Yak-9Ts, this will only happen if you specifically make it happen via the air directive system.

They are very good at shredding armour but there is no intrinsic bias in their allocation unless you generate it.

By that I mean, if you add them to a GS they attack elements as part of the wider mission, if you create a GA-unit directive just for them, then you can point that at a stack that includes Soviet armoured formations.

Now even as part of a generic GS, these planes will do a decent job on enemy armour compared to more general usage ground attack planes.

Thanks a lot for the feedback That would be a great micro management area for me. does air units or individual pilots keep track of what they destroyed type by type. Not that I like his political background but Recreating a Hans-Ulrich Rudel would be nice.

not really. The game has named pilots but this is a bit of an illusion. Some are the historically named pilots reflecting known individuals others are just given a name so that they are not called pilot 10001 or whatever.

To some extent kills are allocated to the pilot but there are two problems.

a) the concept of a kill is different to WiTE1 for various reasons so the tracking is less comprehensive (this especially influences air-ground interaction)
b) the non-historical pilots sort of disappear if their air group goes to the reserve. They are replaced by a number in the pilot pool (say the 20 pilots) each with the average value of their air unit. This saves a huge amount of processing time as then there is no need to track them, but clearly their wins etc are lost from the system in the sense of being allocated to them (the air unit retains them).

This is all why WiTE2 has a very different model for the creation of Soviet Gds air groups to #1

It's equally hard if not impossible to engineer Luftwaffe fighter aces. If you have a pilot with a near-perfect experience level, he is still part of a larger unit that has many other excellent pilots. Those people are all competing for the same kills and in effect steal the kills of your would-be ace.

That and 90+ experience does not mean that you are immune to being killed or captured.

I Belive it will be harder for Fighter aces. But I have high hope to create ground attack "Aces". I am assuming all time fighter covered Ground attack air combat units can achieve big numbers in the long run. But It seems as long as they are not put in to national Reserve. In this respect I liked WITW air system more I guess. This micro management gives me more reason to dive into deep in to air war.

Sorry to say that WiTE2 does not gather the ground kill information as the original game does, so there are no ground attack aces. You just have missions flown to judge contributions to the war effort.

Yak-9T was not a tankbuster. Soviets used the big-gun a/c (also P-39/P-63) vs bombers and enemy shipping. Simply too fast to reliably hit moving tanks, having a single cannon is not like spraying MG bullets that have a high chance to hit the target
