Hello all.
Really enjoying the game so far despite being a newcomer to GG games.
I started with “The road to Minsk” scenario to ease me into the game before committing to the full campaign.
I made a successful breach in the Russian line in bothe the south and north. My motorised and panzer divisions then moved directly on Minsk while my infantry encircled the Russian front line to my rear.
The further I traveled the more I noticed my air support units did not have a fighter escort.
Do I need to move my air wings closer to the new front using captured airbases and if so how is this best achieved?
Cheers

Check out the One Page Guides that come with the game, for using the AI Air Assist or manual management of the air game. It's just a few steps either way to get your Air Operational Groups (AOGs) where you want them.

They'll only move during the air phase, so at some point if you go far enough in a turn (as in Turn 1) you'll outrun your fighter cover and have to be careful using ground support. Selecting your fighter AOGs and turning on their range circles will help you see the area they can cover. In the campaign, assuming you are playing with some of the air automation, if you keep them on a Flexible setting and assign them to Follow a ground HQ that is moving ahead, they'll try to keep pace each turn as long as the supply lines and available airbases are sufficient.

Many thanks, sir.
These one page guides are really helpful :)
I am loving how detailed this game is. The more you play, the more layers of gameplay you discover:)

Actually you can trigger an IMMEDIATE TRANSFER and they will move when you do this. So you can move the fighters up during the turn if you so wish. BUT the airbase supply situation may be pretty poor and that will limit the fighter's performance until your next logistics phase (so all through the enemy turn).
