You my loyal and I must say very patient readers of this AAR now have a part to play. Consider yourselves the diplomats of the waring nations. I will allow a week for interested diplomats to responds to the following questions and based on the collective responses, including votes, I will decide whether or not I continue this AAR and, if so, how.

The situation for the Western Allies in Italy has become very dire. Alexander's HQ-I was eliminated and Eisenhower's HQ-A along with an airborne division are now surrounded by Axis forces. To make matters worse for Eisenhower his HQ-A is disorganized and can't be reorg except by O-chit. With the Soviet Union and the Red Army in collapse, Germany is and will continue to redeploy significant ground and air forces from the Eastern Front to Italy.

1. Should the Western Allies seek an armistice with Germany and Italy?

2. And if they do, would Germany and Italy only agree to one if Japan is included because of, "The Tripartite Pact"?

3. Would the Western Allies agree to an armistice only between Germany and Italy and one that includes all three axis powers?

4. What would be the terms of any armistice(s) agreed to by some or all of the waring powers?

My short answers to your questions:
1. No, I see no valid reason why they should?
2. Yes, if such an armistice would constitute a draw in game terms, this would be a far better result than the Axis player could expect by JA45, based on current situation.
3. No, the WAllies are far ahead on their usual and also historical schedule. No need for either armistice.
4. Can't see any incentive for WAllies to demand less than Unconditional Surrender. Axis should take any better offer.

I wonder, why you seem to be so pessimistic about the perspectives of WAllies? USA is far ahead in the Pacific, having already seized Rabaul, Truk and the Marianas. Japan suffered just a mini-Midway this turn with losing carriers 2:1 to the US. Singapore and Batavia are still CW controlled. China is in good shape, both National and Communist China. Japan is doomed.
Germany has reached its highwater mark in the East. Russia can hold the Urals and will regroup. I assume, most of the factories have been moved to Siberia? Russia still holds Murmansk, Leningrad, Sevastopol, Archangel, which will force Germany to some mopping up operations.
The WAllies almost kicked Italy out of the war, in JA42! They enjoy still a safe stronghold on the Italian mainland plus all of Sicily and Sardinia as staging area. So far they have achieved all their victories with almost only their starting forces after USA joined. The full industrial power of USA has not yet started to show.
Yes, it was a bold attempt trying to kick Italy out already in 1942 and it almost succeeded! In MJ43 the WAllies can choose again from several target areas in Europe, when they will be back with overwhelming force. SU will take some time to recover its forces, but will push Germany back in 1944.

No. You demand an unconditional surrender from the Axis.

Japan is in deep trouble. The Allies should aim to destroy the Axis one at a time. Sure, Italy has some setbacks, but Japan is toast. So that should be the main target. Go for the Japanese oil, attack Japanese convoys and try to take out Japan as a fighting force.

Than you can poor in the necessary resources to go into the USSR out of Vlad and look: there's the Russian Bear fighting out of the Urals.

J/A 1942. Historically the darkest time for the Allies in the war. And look: how well does the game reflect this. How many players surrender somewhere in 1942...

It's amazing how fast the tide turns in this game...

The Luftwaffe looks weak in the Med. The Italian fleet looks to largely be sunk or damaged.

Ike may be in trouble, but his escorts could possibly be air-resupplied, and there are 3 units in a mountain hex. An Axis attempt to take that mountain pocket might work (need an S result vs. minimum 10 defense), but @ a cost of an Allied riposte on flipped Axis units, with Monty in Gibraltar and Macarthur embarking at Norfolk in September - & he is backed by an Offensive Chit in November. The Eisenhower HQ-A is still of great value where it is.

So the situation around Taranto is not resolved. In FE rules the Allies should be able to double most combat factors in the area via Battleship. If Taranto falls to the Allies, the Italian strength level is weak, and the Axis can not ZoC Allied units in Sicily. Math favors the Allies and the Italian King will be counting the divisions and squadrons till the inevitable day he puts in the call to Badoglio.

Elsewhere, the S/O weather might save Baku. Having crossed into Siberia, the Germans’ partisan problems in Russia will grow.

Syria is Free French and that should begin to worry the Turks, who are out of position to defend their long frontiers, which are also uniquely vulnerable to the Screaming Eagles and the USMC. While Baku holds out, no one seems to be paying attention to the rest of the Middle East.

The Germans have only one SUB on the spiral, so Allied BPs should be flowing freely to the Red Army. Hopefully generating enough surplus for a few SKI or Cav divisions to threaten all those Russian cities behind the lines. Germany minus Italy has a tall order holding the Reich together vs. the American war machine which has little to fear from the Japanese. Germany has only 3 rail moves per impulse...

Turn 18. Jul/Aug 1942. End of Turn. Soviet-Japanese Non-Aggression Pact.

1. While the Soviets exceed the garrison requirements of the Soviet-Japanese Non-Aggression Pact they; however, are not in strict compliance of the "pact's unit types required".

2. Japan is.

3. The pact will be considered enforced with the Soviets agreeing to build a mot corps next turn* for deployment to Soviet Asia two turns after that.

* Pact was assessed until after this turn builds were made.
