thanks for answering so quick. I mean the old version of Intelmonkey, that was in use about 6 years ago. I removed it and installed the IM of this thread.

OK. Let's make sure I understand: the new version from this thread is picking up an old game?

correct: if I look into the "archive" folder I see files dating back to 2015. should I delete all files not generated by the current pbem?

Some separate ideas...

Use the configuration menu to tell IM where to find the files for your game.

Many players run multiple games at one time, and do so by having WITP-AE installed in different folders (just for example "PBM1", "PBM2", etc.).

If you are in a sense re-using an installation of AE then yes, you should clean out files from the old game. IM will just pick up whatever files are there, without knowing some of them are from an old game.

Hope this answers your question.

- I cancelled all files in archive prior to feb 14th 2021 (when I picked up the pbem left 6 years ago)
- in configuration I pressed "create/replace all"
- I pressed get scenario data
- I pressed load info
- all buttons except aircraft/bases/groups/lcus/ships info was greyed out
- I pressed "process new files"
- I now have my pbem on intelmonkey. I have to go and study the use of the different screens and options because I cant extract the information I want. But it's there.

Thank you, I hope I dont have to come back to you and bother you.

Go here:

https://sites.google.com/site/staffmonkeys/intel-monkey

And click the small arrow at bottom right (circled in red on the attachment)

Note: You might have to disable your antivirus in order to complete the download or even install it.

See if this helps:

Automated virus-checking software gives false positives about the .exe version. Even after you get it downloaded and installed you might need to add it to the virus checker white list (aka exception list) so it doesn't delete it out from under you.

Read a page or two before the first post on this page for some background:
https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4376711&mpage=6&key=https%2Cwww%2Emediafire%2Ecom%2Cfile%2C5jr7vzrdqzep4x1%2CIM%2DI%2E7z%2Cfile

Use this link: https://www.mediafire.com/file/5jr7vzrdqzep4x1/IM-I.7z/file
Password to decrypt file: intel_monkey (all lower case)

What I really need to do is get the project moved over to Github or something like that, then get set up to digitally sign the executable.

I was surprised that Malwarebytes did not detect this as malware this time around. Of course Microsoft Defender did flag it, but a manual override worked fine.
I find your utility most useful in the later stages of the game, when it is time to start the Allied advance Japan.

Thanks - I already had it, but covid seems to have generated a group of new players.

Many thanks to all for your help and observations. Going to the page mentioned by Kull has worked though I did have to disable anti-virus as suggested to download it. Normally I would be wary of this but have put my trust in the WITPAE veterans!

So just to recap, DL possible (for me at least) from page address ending in .../intel-monkey (given by Kull)

But could not do this via page ending .../home

And then after some time, probably after a Windows update, Defender deleted it again. I am through fighting. I like your utility but it is too much trouble to use.

You will have to give it specific permission . . .

Can perhaps a mod/admin look into this issue? I am interested in the program too as it was recommended...but not if there are d/l/possible virus problems just like the forum seems to have issues...thanks.

Scroll up and you can what the author of the program has written.

Hello Chaps,

To get IntelMOnkey working do I first need to have Tracker loaded up with the game I am playing??? or does intelmonkey just need to use the Tracker program files???

If I do need Tracker - is their a forum page which clearly lays out how to set it up??? Ive been struggling with this one....

Ive managed to get combat reporter working but not tracker???###Update - now got tracker working

Cheers

Gaz

All three are separate utilities, though there may be some overlap in the data they use from your game results that would prevent them from operating simultaneously.

I think I would read the "Read Me" files for each of the programs to see if companion programs like Java are required and how you link them to the utility you installed.

Ok

Tracker is now working. The issue I seem to have now is when I hit the "load info" button in intelmonkey it gets to 4 lines the last of which is "Loads AircraftInfo is complete"

It then seems to freeze - with the message at the bottom saying "Status: Populating Info database. Be Patient.

When using Intel Monkey do you need to set it up at the very start of a game??? does it toe in with Tracker???

Cheers

Gaz

Tracker, Combat Reporter, and Intel Monkey can all be run at the same time; they don't interfere with, or depend on, each other. You can get any running at any turn of the game. Others can tell you what you would have needed to have done before that to get data for earlier turns. All that information should be found in what serves as documentation for the utilities.

It sounds like you have an outdated witploadae file. See this thread to get an updated one

Did you set your shortcut to the game up with the -archive switch to save all the turns? Otherwise it will overwrite old data with the last turn run.

It seems to load Land, Sea, Air, Group Info, all the other buttons are not activated. It also seems be loading the whole dataset for the Grand Campaign not just for Op Buccanneer.

The witploadAE is v9.0.

Im out of ideas no idea why I can get this working.....

Just to check, did you copy that version to the scen folder? I think it needs to be there so it can find the scenario files.
